I can't agree with you that it's busy. I think the flag skewered on the cutlass makes it distinct from the other "crossbones" NFL logo of the Raiders. I do wish the Bucs could have kept the Bruce logo as their sleeve patch and not done the pirate ship. I saw somewhere where a fan re-did the Brucelogo in the current color scheme instead of the "dreamsicle" tangerine and it was cool!! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You can't just shove red out of the primary logo, as for the old Bucco Bruce, I agree, it wasn't THAT bad. That logo has always been given a bum rap. I have always wanted the Redskins to do just the feather. I was thinking, though, that the feathers should be more vertical and pushed towards the back of the helmet a bit. With positioning similar to if they just removed the head logo and just kept the feathers (with the feathers a bit enlarged). It would be the one of the more unique helmets in the league.As for the Bucs, I always thought there was a dispute between the Raiders and the Bucs over the Bucs new uniform, so one of the reasons not to have the head on the Bucs helmet would be to keep it distinct from the Raiders' Jolly Roger. There has been a lawsuit in the past filed against Tampa Bay and Carolina (for some unknown reason) by the Raiders for a violation of design.
