Murfreesboro man's Music City Bowl idea is just the ticket for fathers, sons

Lessons from own dad spark outpouring of philanthropy

Nathan Burns may bleed Kentucky blue, but a Wildcats fan might argue he has a heart of gold.

The Murfreesboro real estate agent and lifelong Kentucky football fan will help send at least seven father-son duos to the Music City Bowl on Friday thanks to a simple message-board post that has become the driving force for something much bigger.

Nearly two weeks ago, Burns offered two tickets to a father and son who would otherwise be unable to go to the bowl game, Kentucky's first in seven years. The inspiration for the offering stemmed from Burns' childhood road trips to Wildcats football games with his father, Frank.

The six-hour drives from Huntingdon, Tenn., to Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington, Ky., gave the two plenty of opportunities to talk about everything from football to girls to lessons on morality.
