buzzcut
Before moving into the brackets, I want to explain how the conference leaders are determined in each bracket using the following priorites:1) Winning percentage in conference games2) If there is a tie for 1st, head-to-head results will be used, if tied, record in Division I games will be used, if still tied after that, latest RPI rank.3) For conferences with divisions, the result of the game between division leaders will be used. Now that has been dispersed with, the brackets:Final Four PairingsWest vs. MidwestEast vs. SouthWEST Region@Sacramento1-UCLA(Pac-10) vs. 16-Southern Utah(Mid-Con)8-Texas Tech vs. 9-Indiana@Spokane4-Air Force(Mountain West) vs. 13-Ohio(Mid-American)5-Tennessee vs. 12-UC Santa Barbara(Big West)@Winston-Salem2-Duke vs. 15-Siena(MAAC)7-Michigan State vs. 10-California@Chicago3-Kansas vs. 14-Texas A&M-Corpus Christi(Southland)6-Southern Illinois vs. 11-VillanovaNORTH Region@Chicago1-Wisconsin vs. 16-Opening Round winnerOpening Round: Florida A&M(MEAC) vs. Sacred Heart(Northeast)8-Northern Iowa(MVC) vs. 9-Texas@Spokane4-Nevada(WAC) vs. 13-Santa Clara(WCC)5-Marquette vs. 12-Arkansas@Sacramento2-Arizona vs. 15-Belmont(Atlantic Sun)7-Notre Dame vs. 10-Missouri State@Lexington3-Alabama(SEC) vs. 14-Weber State(Big Sky)6-Clemson(ACC) vs. 11-IllinoisEAST Region@Winston-Salem1-North Carolina vs. 16-Lousiana-Monroe(Sun Belt)8-West Virginia(Big East) vs. 9-UNLV@Columbus4-Texas A&M vs. 13-Princeton(Ivy)5-Kentucky vs. 12-Washington State@Lexington2-Ohio State(Big Ten) vs. 15-Vermont(America East)7-Drexel(Colonial) vs. 10-Georgetown@Buffalo3-Pittsburgh vs. 14-Navy(Patriot)6-Gonzaga vs. 11-Boston CollegeSOUTH Region@New Orleans1-Florida vs. 16-Jackson State(SWAC)8-Oregon vs. 9-Wichita State@Buffalo4-Maryland vs. 13-Winthrop(Big South)5-Memphis(CUSA) vs. 12-Missouri@New Orleans2-Oklahoma State(Big 12) vs. 15-Furman(Southern)7-Florida State vs. 10-Washington@Columbus3-Butler(Horizon) vs. 14-Samford(Ohio Valley)6-Connecticut vs. 11-George Washington(A-10)Last five in: Boston College, Arkansas, Illinois, Washington State, MissouriLast five out: Louisiana State, Syracuse, Xavier, Purdue, Southern CaliforniaNext five out: Davidson, Kansas State, Virginia, Creighton, Appalachian StateMultiple-Bid Conferences: ACC(6), Big East(7), Big Ten(5), Big 12(6), MVC(4), MWC(2), Pac-10(6), SEC(5), WCC(2)Next Projection: 1-11 The CCSLC's resident Geelong Cats fan. DG_ThenNowForever
Speaking of the NIT, does anyone actually enjoy that tournament? I like that Stamford and Winthrop can qualify for automatic invites, but nine times out of ten, I would expect that a lesser Big XII or SEC team invited to the NIT could beat those automatic bid teams.I kind of look at the NIT as a collection of good but not great teams that can still play quality basketball, especially the teams unfairly bounced off the bubble. I certainly don't the the NIT winner is the 65th best team in the country, perhaps the 20th best or so. But still, I've always seen more basketball as better than less. Plus, I'll watch almost any male basketball game contested at MSG. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
HedleyLamarr
South Carolina likes the NIT.....Back in the day, the NIT was a bigger tournament than the NCAA tournament. Some teams actually competed in both tournaments in the same season.
NJTank
The NIT was still a big deal until the 70s when the NCAA Tournament was much smaller and only had only one team per Conference. However with 65 teams now in the NCAA the NIT is just the fight for being #66 www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
KevinMcD
I went to a NIT game in 2005 after UB got robbed of an NCAA bid after a tip in at the buzzer by Ohio's Leon Williams in the MAC Championship. I was still happy they won a game vs. Drexel in a national post-season touurney.

BaltimoreFan
7-Maryland vs. 10-StanfordGlad to see you still have Maryland making the tourney. I'm starting to worry its going to be a 3rd straight trip to the NIT. I can't wait until this senoir class leaves, they seem to have a bad work ethic (same with the 2006 class). They'll get a huge win against a good team, then lose a game that should be an easy win.
McCall
Glad to see some love for the Missouri Valley, although your prediciton of Indiana State with the automatic bid was a bit off base I think. Glad to see you correct with the most recent one. Especially love your high hopes for Missouri State. Hopefully they'll solve their little slump and get back into that possible 6th seed. https://dribbble.com/MakaioCall
