The Appy league of Minor League baseball will opperate with 9 teams as they could not find a replacement team for the Pulaski Blue Jays who Toronto dropped at the end of last year.

This is going to cause a big scheduling nightmare.

This is really too bad, but I don't know if there is any way to get around it. Hopefully next season some team sets up an Appy League team there.

Other than Pulaski, what other cities could be used for an Appy League team?

how did a city of 10,000 ever have a minor league baseball team?

and boone i read has only like 15,000.

jeez my city has over 60,000 including surrounding areas and we could never dream of a minor league team.

Tradition, being a rookie league, having a stadium, not having a local team in your "territory" (not sure how that shakes out with Seattle, Tacoma, and the NWL teams) etc.

Midwest League has an interesting mix of super small (Beloit, Clinton, Burlington) and medium/large-sized (Quad Cities, Peoria, Grand Rapids, Dayton) markets.

The easy solution is to have a league-operated road team, and keep finding a home for them for next year.

Trail, not that I'm coming over for Lemonade, but whereabouts are you? B'ham? Burlington? Skagit Casino?

Blacksburg Va. would seem to be a logical choice and could use English Field at Va. Tech. if they could get around the NCAA ban of alcohol in facilities. I thought the Carolina Panthers were given a waiver when they played at Clemson.
