14 wins aren't what they used to be... ;)

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

And just when we were prepared to eternally revile Eli for his "franchise in disarray line", THIS happens.

This is right up with "Invade Russia in winter" in the heirarchy of stupid decisions.

You manage to balance agitation with just enough salient points to keep things interesting. Kind of a low-rent DG_Now.

The Chargers fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Schottenheimer when wins are on the line!

This was a stupid move. Just idiotic. Unless Spanos pulls Bill Cower out of a hat I fail to see the sense in this (other then Spanos' son being the GM who should have been listing to Marty all along).

This is stupid. Now San Diego has to replace 5 assistant coaches and a head coach.

At least they have a winning resume to attract a good coach.

Unfortunately none are available.

Seriously this didn't work out for the Chargers when the forced Bobby Ross out, what makes them think the same thing again is going to work.

Tell that to Chinggis Khan... or the British in India... or the Americans in World War II... or the Americans in the Spanish American War... or the Europeans in the Opium Wars... or the Europeans in the Boxer Rebellion... or the Japanese in the Sino-Japanese War... or Alexander the Great in Persia... <_<

And for the record, neither Charles XII, Napoleon, nor Hitler had their troops set foot on Asian Russia soil during combat operations (Great Winter War, Campaign of 1812, and Operation Barbarossa, respectively).
