Vicious
i saw a story on ESPN about Barry Zito, and he and all of his managers were wearing all black with the outlint of giants in orange. and they had the same outline of an orage "G" on their caps. it wasnt the same font that they usually use. is this a new concept, or have they used that all along. i would really like to know. here it is:http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p925892dt.jpgthanks,Vicious
gordie_delini
Not new. That G debuted in the 80s, then they brought it back a few years ago as the BP logo.

Eye
Is the G used in those Giants logos supposed to be a lowercase or uppercase G? It seems like you could make the case (sorry for the pun) for either.-E.A.R.

By the way, here is it used on the jersey:heh, looks like they took the gold shadow off the BP script...greaaaat. the lettering on the old version was nearly illegible, now you can chop off "nearly." hope none of the handful of Cubs spring games on WGN are against the Giants. They ditched the gold outline on the hat on the BP. I noticed that the other day when I bought my Giants BP hat.Gold and orange sort of blurs the lettering regardless if its the current road grays, the old alternate blacks (from 2001-2002) to the bp tops - However - they also use the "Giants" script form for their tops during spring training games (in which they wear black tops)... The script form was also used for their white, orange and black pullover tops between 1977-1982 (primarily during Vida Blue's first run with the Giants). As A diehard Giants fan at least the gold element to the uniform makes the package distinguishable from the Orioles which uses only black and orange which historically is connected to John McGraw at the turn of the last century who managed both teams. It also oddly enough forges a link with the 49ers use of gold and of the connection to the history of the city (The Gold Rush).
Raven52
Wow, that's really bad. It's too narrow and you can't really distinguish it from a distance.
