NBA Trade Deadline

With only two minor deals the NBA Trade Deadline has disappointed. I just love the trade deadline for each league for some reason and there wasnt much to talk about at all lol.

Anthony Johnson G from Mavericks to Hawks for 2007 2nd. Rd. Pick

Juan Dixon G from Trail Blazers to Raptors for Fred Jones G

Now that we have the one for the thumb, the other hand looks lonely........GO STEELERS

NHL is the only way to go come trade deadline day. But they also be because on Trade Deadline Day that's all you get to see on the sports network...

MLB Trade Deadline Day > NFL, NBA, and NHL Trade Deadline Days, combined...then squared...plus eleventy kajillion

Beat me to it. I can't even remember the last time there was a huge splash on the NFL Trade Deadline.

Now the MLB Trade Deadline, that's a whole different story.

I love the MLB Trade Deadline

Also the Jazz acquired F/C Alan Henderson from Philadelphia

And the usual response to that: "old-ass Alan Henderson is still in the league????"

Dude I cant even remember the last time there was a big trade in the NFL period. I think the biggest player for player trade I can remember is Portis for Bailey

hey....even minor trades are important to *someone*.

case in point? that "most major trade" (sarcasm) while, yes, minor, did help out the Blazers a lot. Dixon was very unsettled here, clashed with Nate, and at best was a streak shooter with no defense - at worst, he was a streak shooter on a missing streak and a defensive liability, especially on the league's better 2-guards (or, god forbid, he switch onto a point or 3...uggh).

though Freddie has been all sixes and sevens and then the bench this year for the Raptors, he *wants* to be back in his home town (from Portland, and went to school here in Eugene - FJ come on back down and share some love with the Duckies in the Pit, man! We'd love it!) and apparently called up Nate to say "I'm giving my 110%." Dude is psyched to be back, he can't be any worse on defense than JD was, and as a slasher he's the type of guy Nate wants on our second team.

BTW, that second crew is going to look like this - Sergio Rodriguez, FJ, Martell Webster, Travis Outlaw, LaMarcus Aldridge - and they're going to run some people down. Two rookies and a soph on that crew, too. Just FYI.

So, though they may not be blockbusters all the time, trades *do* matter to somebody. That somebody in this case happens to be verbose, longwinded and a lover of his team. RIP CITY BABY!

Nope.

MLB is great for sure, but it's just on par with the NHL.

In fact, the NHL and the MLB are the only two with interesting offseasons too for the most part. (Though, I don't follow the NBA too closely right now, perhaps they're offseason is good, too.)
