Las Vegas Kings NBA Team Relocation

With the NBA hosting the 2007 All-Star game in Las Vegas this year, I strongly believe that the NBA will relocate a team to Las Vegas's downtown core. The Mayor of Las Vegas has also been in pursuit of a team and has had many discussions with NBA Commissioner David Stern. The City currently does not have any of the 4 major sport leagues in the city and are currently the largest city without a Professional Sports Franchise. This would enable a huge fan base due to no competition around.

The Maloof Brothers that own the Sacramento Kings reside in Las Vegas and own the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. Currently they are seeking for a new arena to replace the aging and outdated Arco Arena and have not had much success in their dealings with Sacramento City officials. Moving their franchise to Las Vegas would be the best situation for them, enabling them to get full backing from Las Vegas Mayor since tourism and entertainment value is added to the city. They would also get the much needed state of the art Arena and would also see a huge success at their casinos since Las Vegas is known as a gambling city.

Some say that gambling is a problem that goes hand in hand with placing a team in Las Vegas. But when you look at the States of New Jersey and New Orleans where casinos also exist, Las Vegas is looking more promising. The team would play in the entertainment capital in the States, which would be attractive to many local businesses, even those that are friends or have connections with the Maloof Brothers. Having a team in a smaller market like Sacramento just doesn't really make much sense for the league and the current ownership. It would also save them a heck of a time flying back and forth from Las Vegas to Sacramento.

Now having said all this (LOL), I feel that a cool logo to go with the name would be 4 playing cards (all Kings of each suit) being held by an Elvis impersonator (King of Rock). Can anyone help come up with a concept or if anyone has a better idea for a logo, feel free to post it right here.

Jackie, I don't think glenn was putting your post down by:

1. helping you avoid possible backlash

2. giving is 2 cents on why it won't happen

3. kidding around with you (hence the )

After all this is more of a logo "request" and not much of a "concept" since there was no concept posted, just an diea.

With that said, the odds of somebody actually doing the logo are pretty slim. With it being a good idea and all I would hate to see it go to waste. So how about you slap something together so that we'll be able to see it.

It is a public forum, and people can reply to whatever they feel like, nice or not, you'll have to deal.

In fact, I would say that that's a pretty tame response considering some of what I've read here in response to similar posts. If nothing else, he's trying to help you avoid making the same mistake twice.

Instead of asking for someone else to do it, why not giving it the ol' college try yourself? You may be amazed what you come up with.

Okay guys, for one, 30 000 people don't need to reply to back up Glenn. 1 or 2 is enough, its like an echo in here or I am surrounded by parrots. A band of merry men coming to the rescue after 1 guy replied, more and more are like "yahhh...take that!".."ohhh in your faceee" LOL. I got the point!
