How about Boro?

No horizontal stripe...

And gold always looks good to just throw in...

'Boro's shirts look so generic without the white center stripe. And the crest represent another step backwards for their home kit design. I kinda like the change kit, though.

Ajax:

Taking their classic design to a new level with subtle crosses from Amsterdam's flag and what appears to be a pattern of inserts that Adidas hasn't used on anyone else this year. And perhaps it's just the angle, but is this kit really sans-Adidas stripes?

Amazingly, it actually looks like Adidas did keep their stripes off the new Ajax shirts.

Without the stripe on the chest, Boro looks like it just grabbed last year's Man. U. shirts and slapped its new badge on them. It's a nice enough shirt, but not at all distinctive.

They are probably hiding the stripes by adding them in white.

The stripes are indeed, white. This is the jersey that they will wear during the Eredivisie League games. If the past few years are anything to go by, the adidas stripes will be red for Champions League/UEFA Cup matches.

Upon further research, the white stripes have also been present in KNVB Cup matches.

now when we've seen all new premiership shirts I would rank them in this order:

1. Man City (Le Coq Sportif)

2. Portsmouth (Catembury)

All Nike teams: 3. Aston Villa 4. Arsenal 5. Man U. 6. Fulham

then I would put all Umbro teams, then Bolton. By far the worst are Adidas teams with Derby being the best out of Adidas.

I agree with you mostly, though i think the new united kit is better than arsenals. bolton have a design which is a) more interesting and B) more unique than any of the umbro shirts, so it has to go ahead of them. where does middlesbrough fit into this then?

Sevilla has just unveiled their new kits...

The third pink strip is absolutely horrendous. It looks like a poorly sewn together quilt.

Whats with the random color square on the shoulder?

This is from the same folks who inflicted this on the world last year:

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

Joma is completely out of control, plain and simple. While on the topic of paint smears, though, Nike's are mercifully absent from Arsenal's marvelous recurrant trainingwear:

I might even say the best single color in the world.

EDIT: Just noticed -- what the hell is up the Adidas stripes near the hem of that long-sleeve top?

More findings after further web-browsing:

Manchester United away:

Arsenal third:

Hooped socks (on their second Arsenal kit this year) look great, but it's just Barcelona turned on its side. The white outline around "Fly Emirates" should be a surefire way to identify fakes.

Chelsea's third kit will be white, with blue inserts filling in the Adidas template faintly visible on the Ajax kit up above. Official unveiling an on-pitch debut July 31.
