sorry i am trying to add to the spirit of the post.

i kinda figured it was intentional to begin with.

seems like i remember back in 96 or 97, i was watching a wings game on espn, and they were featuring i think it was either Primeau or Konstantinov who had a mispelled jersey.

I don't know if it was a misspelling or not, but I know the other night I was watching the Avengers play the Predators in Arena league and there was one guy on the Avengers who nameplate read something like "McGHGHY". Don't know if that was a misspelling or if that's really his name...but it KEPT coming up on screen! Did anyone else catch that?

I didn't watch the game, but according to the Avengers' roster, the name's correct:

Matt McGhghy

I have no idea how in the world you would pronounce that.

Not major league... but I know several years ago when the Lone Star Cavalry of the NAHL got their "Texas Pride" special jerseys done, forward Andrew Goberstein's came out screened as "Goberstain".

IIRC, the team ended up taping over it for the weekend, along with some other goofs from that batch (mostly name/number mismatches)...
