Keep in mind that this is a work in progress. I am not happy with the lion's mane, and I am trying to find another appropriate lighter gray accent within the face to match the one on his chin. I think the head of the lion could use a little bit of white for highlight, and so could the mane. Maybe do something different with the eye, he looks kinda sleepy right now. Awesome work so far! Vicious Posted March 29, 2007 Share Posted March 29, 2007 yeah, looks great so far. i would definatley work on the mane, and make it less cluttered. i would also fix the eye, and give him a top tooth. right now it looks like he only has bottom teeth. even if you show just a little bit of the top fang, it will look good because i know you dont have a lot of room to work with in the mouth, so maybe you expand the mouth a bit to do this. looks great so far though. keep working on it, and i am excited to see how this turns out seeing as i am a huge lions fan, living in the great lake state. maybe make a logo without a wordmark as well. This looks more like a Hallowe'en mask of a lion's face without the strong jawline/neckline this needs.A good way to differentiate a sleeping lion from a growling one would be to add lines suggestive of furrowing skin around the eyes. Lions close their eyes tighter to roar than to sleep.Do the Jeopardy! people mind you borrowing their font for the wordmark? "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17. I'll say this though: that you even took the time and came up with THAT as a prelim says something. VERY NICE first draft!
