The Milwaukee Indians?

Hey, maybe the people of Milwaukee will finally get to watch some quality baseball.... oops, did I say that out loud?

*ZING!*

Don't sleep on this year's Brewers. First of all, it's uncomfortable.

Maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't it make sense to play this series in Anaheim and then have a series that was scheduled for Anaheim moved to Cleveland to balance it out?

MLB rules don't allow for a team to play in the Pacific time zone one day, and the Eastern time zone the next (or so I read earlier regarding why Milwaukee was the choice over Anaheim). That seems unlikely, but it's what I read.

It's where I sit.

Has someone bothered to inform the MLB office that there are these magical things called jet airliners that can fly you across the country in but a matter of hours?

Selig stated on ESPN radio this afternoon it would have been unfair to Angel season ticket holders to move it at the last minute. Also it was the Indians idea to move the games to a neurtal site.

The rule is probably in the collective agreement with the player's union. If that is the case they would have to waive the rule.

That what keeps me from doing it, sir.

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

There's also a magical affliction called jet lag.

Somehow I think that will only be a factor if/when MLB expands to Japan and Europe.

I feel sorry for the Indians and their fans losing home games snow outs and 1 out away Friday before the game was called.
One strike away in fact. Crafty manager, that Hargrove is.

So the Indians are either returning to the happy hunting grounds or leaving the reservation. Can they have the roof open a crack the first game? That way they can be "juuuuuuust a bit outside" for the game.

One pitch away from being no-hit, at that.

Paul Byrd, the Cleveland pitcher that evening, said it best: "If the count is 3-0, they wouldn't be saying anything.".

Except for the fact that MLB wouldn't recognize that as a no-hitter. By rule, a no-hitter must feature the pitcher(s) pitching at least 9 innings, thus why Andy Hawkins is no longer considered to have thrown a no-hitter.

Another thing I heard is that the Indians were willing to "give" Anaheim these three games. They needed to get the team out there and play some baseball! So, the Angels ticket holders would NOT be affected. The previously scheduled Angels Home games were NOT going to be moved to Cleveland. There was no "swap". So, the Angels would have played 84 games in Angels Stadium. I think the Tribe would have been considered "home" though, for the first 3. Due to "logisitcs" and flight arrangements, the Angels said "no". They didn't want to play in CA Thursday then in Boston on Friday.

From this morning's Milwaukee paper, it was Cleveland's idea to call Milwaukee. It's within driving distance and maybe an hour extra flight time for the teams' next games.

Reports are they've already sold about 12,000 tix for the series, which ain't bad for the first day. Hell, I'd go if I could (broke this week).
