Patrick Kane, your new Chicago Blackhawk!

I really like the talent the Hawks are stockpiling. Cam Barker, Jack Skille, Jonathan Toews, now Kane? Good.

just thinking of a Havlat - Toews - Kane line is getting me giddy.

Can't forget Brent Seabrooke!!!! The stud D in waiting!

Wirtz is a p.o.s. but at least he opens the checkbook on occasion.

At least the Buffaloian Kane probably won't go to the Flyers.

Good, because you think were jinxed now.....

Give me Cheraponov, noone is talking about him as a top 4 anymore because they say hes inconsistent. Ill take anyone talent wise that can better the numbers of Ovechkin and Bure.

Awesome news for the 'Hawks. First time they ever select first overall. I hope they take Kane. Hawks win a cup by 2010!

Does Bill Wirtz getting gunned down in the next three months figure heavily into this scenario?

I concur.

All of those "ZOMG AEWSOEM MOEVEZ!!!11" they made in the offseason paid off to the tune of 201 goals. At least Martin Havlat can join Nikolai Khabibulin in enjoying their new riches without being encumbered with the NHL's postseason...

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008
