DEAD!
OMG! The game was preempted in Manitoba for the provinicial election. Surely there's outrage. Maybe Icecap will now say how he hates elections as much as horse racing and .... If you're kidding then yeah, that was funny. If you weren't, then I'm very sorry you can't see the differences in the two situations. Chris outlined them nicely.Did the NHL reschedule the start time of the game to accommodate CBC's wishes (and against the wishes of another network) to air the game at a certain time and then CBC decided to cut off the broadcast nationally to air this election?FTW yeah, I was kidding.... too bad I didn't mention curling I saw, I came, I left. Phil
Yeah, I tuned into the Seeb to catch the game, and then I see Janet Stewart's smiling face, talking about how much everyone loooves Gary Doer.Come on. There were two other local stations broadcasting election coverage, an election that was never really in doubt. Would it kill the mother network to air some hockey? HedleyLamarr
FTW Much in the same way you can not give yourself a nickname.... So all of us here, save Roger, are rooting for the Sens, right? Edit: Duh, and Neon is rooting for SoCal, too.Being a Thrashers fan and an American, I simply cannot cheer for Ottawa.
Coast2CoastAM2006
though this is kinda interesting. In 02 the Canes went to the stanley cup finals and lost, then went to the stanley cup last year and won. In 03, the ducks went to the staney cup finals and lost, and this year are in the finals. Both teams faced canadian teams. Spoilers!

In 03, the ducks went to the staney cup finals and lost, and this year are in the finals. Both teams faced canadian teams. This was my thought when the ducks made the finals as well. It's also interesting that both teams had kind of cinderella runs to the finals the first time, but the second time were really the favorites by most. It's too bad the Ducks changed their Disney uniforms, it doesn't seem like the same franchise anymore to me. It's sad.

TFoA
Well, if some team's winning in the state of California, and it isn't the 49ers, Giants, or (Sac) Kings, Snoop's there apparently. And about the game? I have no idea because I am nowhere near a TV at the moment.

TFoA
I'm surprised you're going for the Ducks. How would that make your team look if they were to lose? I'd think you'd be going for the Sens so you could say "Hey, we lost, but only because they'd end up becoming the Stanley Cup Champions."Or maybe I'm just a jaded bandwagon Sens fan. idk. That happened last year, it did not make me feel better, it just seemed if we won against Carolina/Ottawa, we could have won the cup. Also, I can't stand Ottawa, especially with Neil and Murray. I would die if they got to lift the cup.
