2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs Official Thread

For those of us who are nowhere near a TV, what happened?

On a 2-on-1, Iginla appears to have butt-ended Mattieu Schnieder, who dropped as though he felled by a sniper (with good reason). This happened after Kiprusoff got the hook after Detroit went up 5-1. In the short span, Mclennan slashed Johan Franzen twice in front of the net, and after the whistle took a two-handed swing at Maltby's torso. After all of this, Marcus Nilsson put yet another cheap shot in with about 20 seconds left.

Will Calgary have anyone left on the bench for Game 6? :P

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

Dang, the Flames are thuggin it up. This can either fire them up or just glorify their elimination.

Sadly, I say it glorifies the elimination. So now, going down the order of teams to root for in the Stanley Cup playoffs...GO SENS!

Another Dallas shutout there will be a game 7.

Interesting fact going into game 7. One fifth of all teams that have come back to win a series after being 3-1 down did so against the Vancouver Canucks.

Your bringing back so many bad memories...right now, I'm scared to death, the Canucks have looked like crap for 2 straight games now (aside for Roberto Luongo of course).

tell me about it... <_<

Having only 1.5 players playing the whole series will do that for you.

No thats Islanders fans for you, that is why the one thing Devils and Rangers fans agree on is that the Islanders have some of the most annoying fans.

Hey Tank, at least the Islanders HAVE FANS. Devils supposedly the best team in the league and they can't sell out there building. We know where we stand in the NHL. I can see it now Newark will be a ghost town.

Can't we all just get along? The one thing Islanders and Devils fans have in common is hating the Rangers. Can we express this together as two fan bases joined together as one :D

[/Very profound speech]

(1) Buffalo vs. (6) NY Rangers

(2) New Jersey vs. (4) Ottawa

Hmmm, Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Last I checked the Devils had better attendance than the Islanders (The Isles were dead last) and averaged about double the TV ratings than what the Islanders averaged. Not saying what the Devils had was great but it was better than the Islanders.
