Confirmation of NHL White @ Home '07-'08?

I don't know if we can use this as a confirmation of whites at home for next season. The reason why I say this is if you look through Great Skates CCM Replica jersey section they have darks listed as road and whites as home. I am guessing they are using this year for reference of home and road for the replicas.

$110 for a replica. A screened-crest replica with no shoulder patches.

Not buying a single one.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

I personally prefer Darks at home.

Mainly because, while it's usually more noticeable to have a crowd of fans all wearing white, it wouldn't be quite unique. I like when the fans wear all the same colour...

Sounds silly, I know...

Wasn't there a season where the NHL wanted to do 50/50? to allow the home crowd to see both jerseys?

So, the rumor that won't die, eh? Perhaps that's because it's not just a rumor...

Let's hope.

If this is true, will Andy Strickland and HockeyBuzz get back some credibility, haters? I'm kidding, though. Strickland and some bloggers deserve a lot of credit, period. Ecklund deserves credit for putting together the site and giving interesting reads, regardless of how much of what he says comes to pass. And the new MyHockeyBuzz is very cool.

But I've gone off topic...

It's easy to do an e5 when it's 50/50

Yeah, well...

Actually, I don't pay too much attention to Ecklund's own posts. If a Blue is mentioned I pay attention, but Strickland is really the guy I listen too.

He's really accurate and fills my Blues needs, and occassionally he'll report something regarding the whole NHL like he did about the jersey switch. After it was said that wasn't happening around the All Star break, he said he had heard from a source with Reebok. That source may have jumped the gun, but, perhaps, it WAS in the works.

Yahoo says that the NHL's going back to white at home, too.

If that is what they're going to charge for replicas under the new RBK Edge system, I'll never be buying an NHL jersey again, and I'm sure there will be people who do the same. It's one thing to create crappy jerseys (screened on logos and such) it's another to screw people over price wise.

I also just noticed, their sizes only go up to XL... I guess that's a good way to alienate hockey's larger fans.

Well, if you remember this years All Star Game jerseys, the authentics were $425. Thats rediculous. Im starting to dislike the NHL more all the time and that certainly doesnt help.

If this is true, it's about damn time. Darks at home only work for football and soccer.

Not sure how one color "works" better than another color in a certain arena. Do you like the home team to match the ice or something?

I don't care either way. I just find it odd that some people DO. (Though not as odd as people disliking the NHL just because of jersey prices. I haven't bought an NHL jersey since I was a kid anyway.) I have this great thing called television that allows me to see both my team's uniforms no matter where they are playing.

Though if I had to pick, I'd probably pick darks at home. If a team's colors are say... Red and White... I'd rather see the arena decked out in Red. Otherwise every team is gonna have a whiteout. Calgary's fans all in white instead of red? Ottawa's motto of "Be Red" wouldn't work any more. And, hell, when I go to a BLUES game I would expect everyone to wear Blue including the team.... not white. Same goes for the BLUE Jackets or the RED Wings. What about San Jose? The nickname "Tealtown" doesn't really work when it's suddenly white instead of teal.

Darks allow for more variety. Much better looking. Imagine if all soccer teams used white uniforms as their primaries? Yuck.

Business wise it makes no sense. You want to draw fans to your game, yet you're pushing those who've loved it all along away by creating an inferior product and charging double (if not triple) the price. As a fan, I couldn't give a damn about how much less drag there is and all that, save that for the players. I just want to support my team, but I won't support my team (or the NHL) at $110 bucks for a screened on logo replica.

Yahoo Answers is PATHETIC. For instance, I looked up where to send a letter to President Clinton, and at least 90% of the answers were "check out the local strip club" or "Hooters." What the hell is that?
