Brian in Boston Posted April 14, 2007 Share Posted April 14, 2007 Actually, two NHL teams have won the Stanley Cup after finishing the regular season with a losing record: the 1937-38 Chicago Blackhawks and the 1948-49 Toronto Maple Leafs.Chicago finished the 1937-38 regular season with a record of 14-25-9, then went on to capture the Stanley Cup 3 games to 1 over the Toronto Maple Leafs.Toronto posted a 1948-49 regular season record of 22-25-13, then swept the Detroit Red Wings 4-0.
