I think he's trying to say that Joey Crawford will suspend the Spurs after the series forcing the NBA to put the Suns in the conference finals.

Anyone else notice the Miami Heat actually being punished by being their division champions?

If the NBA didn't rank division champions in the top 4, the Heat would be 5th and facing the #4 Toronto Raptors... instead they are facing the stronger #3 Chicago Bulls.

It would make a lot more sense if the division champion was rewarded with home court advantage, but for whatever reason they are not... silly NBA.

I surely don't. The Jazz are facing the same situation. They just not playing a team that is only one game better. This just goes in play with way some division standings been for the few past years. Perfect example: Denver. They've won they're division championships the past two years when they were rank lie seventh, even eighth one year I think, in standings. Last year, the Clippers had home-court advantage in their series against the Nuggets when they were #6 and the Nuggets were #3 (Clippers had a far better record). As of seeding, last year the Spurs and Mavericks were the two best teams in the Western Conference but because of seeding instead of in the conference finals, they played in the second round. Many people complained and the NBA enforced the rule that if a team had a better record than 2nd or 3rd best division champion and was in the same division as the best team in the conference, they would get the highest seed they could (see Cleveland) (I'm sure you knew this anyway). And credibility of winning division would be lost if seeding was just based on records (what would the purpose of divisions be then?). It's just a ripple effect of rules, and records.

College sports as we know them are just about dead. The lid is off on all the corruption that taints just about every major program and every decision that the schools or the NCAA make is only about money, money, and more money. We'll have three 16+ team super-conferences sooner rather than later, killing much of the regional flair and traditional rivalries that make college sports unique and showing the door to any school that doesn't bring money to the table in the process. Pretty soon the smaller schools are going to have to consider forming their own sanctioning body to keep the true spirit of college sports alive because the NCAA will only get worse in it's excess from here
