University of Florida License Plate Changes

With the new "rebranding" of the University of Florida Academic logo, the school thought it'd be a good idea to re-do the state license plate as well.

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | 🌐 Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports 🔗

Are sports team license plates a common thing in most states? Ive seen em for Nevada, Tennessee, Texas, and now Florida. But i've never even heard of em here in California.

Too bad you can't get Gator Nation license plates here in Louisiana, because I'd sure have one!

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

My plate has a Jays logo on it... you can't be surprised

Hey, at least it's blue. :P

I have a Packers plate from my time in Wisconsin.

Here in NY, you can get any of the state's MLB, NHL or NFL clubs.

You can, however, get your favorite NBA team, even if it's from out of state.

The majority of the North Carolina specialty plates have the default NC background with the specialty logo on the left of the plate, with a special code with the plate number. When I visit other states with all these different styles, I like the uniformity of the NC plates.

Here's a link for whoever is interested: NC DMV

Illinois has plates for pretty much every university in the state, but no pro teams or out of state universities. There was talk of a White Sox plate to commemorate the 2005 Championship, but that never happened. Too bad, I would have gotten one; instead I got the enviromental plate.

Missouri has quite a few specialty plates including Blues, Cardinals, Mizzou, and I've seen a Southwest Missouri State--now Misouri State.

I'm sure there's others. I can't remember if there is a Rams plate. My guess is yes, but I can't recall.

But Missouri is soon changing their regular plate designs, so these might change too.

The new Missouri plated that was voted on online.

But before you rag on us, here's the two other crummy options they presented us with.

And here's what they're replacing. A design that I think is at least pretty decent if nothing else. And darn good in comparsion to the above crap.

And here's the link for the specialty plates. There's bunches of colleges in Missouri and organizations, but it doesn't appear that the Rams are one of them.

I went to grad school at the U of Iowa and I always thought those plates were fantasitic. Particularly compared to the very lame U of Wisconsin plates.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."
