Lee. Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Not bad there, RC. I like the second one, with the red armbands on the sleeves. On a related note, I saw a bit of a picture of the Caps in the paper today...did they change their road unies slightly? The arm stripes looked a little different than they used to...more of a metallic gold, with the angled stripes rather than straight across. Or have they always been like that? Welcome to DrunjFlix
STL FANATIC Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 I believe they have always been like that. I like the first one. I have however come to the conclusion they need a new logo though. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
bosox Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 I like the uniforms, but IMO that logo doesnt look good in Red, White, and Blue...
Snowcap30 Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 crap..i cant see them cuz it says the bandwich has exceeded
JQK Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 I LIKE!!!!! I LIKE, I LIKE, I LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!The first one, #3, that one is the best. Old and new, UNITE!This is what i tried to do a while ago, but you nailed it Rog, you f'ing nailed it.,... Stay Tuned Sports Podcast
yh Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 I agree with JQK regarding the format, but the logo is just not my thing. I grew up in the 70's so my sentimental tastes have always leaned toward the retro. I would love it if someone would attempt to update the Caps' original logo (ok, it's more a wordmark than a logo) and graft it on to that sweater. Roger, care to take a swing at it?
Phil Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 I agree that that jersey is nice, however, a young'un like me thinks that the jersey could benefit from the implementation of a nice soft highlight colour, maybe a touch of gold here and there would do. Also, many people seem to like that logo, but me, not so much. It would make a fantastic All-Star Game logo, but for a team? Nehhh... I guess I was one of the few that like the eagle logo more. Not that I liked the eagle logo much at all, I think a completely new thing would be best. Both jerseys are nice, but I think #4 would look better on the ice, with the horizontal sleeve stripes, as opposed to the stars running down the sleeves.
Puckguy14 Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 As much as I love the "swooping eagle", this isn't too bad. I agree with Syphi, a hint of gold in the logo and the jersey will make it a winner. 2004 San Jose Sharks 7th Man Fan of the Year San Jose Gold Miners - 4x Lombardi Cup Champions
Snowcap30 Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 i can see them now....i really liek them. they would make a good retro jersey for them
STL FANATIC Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 I LIKE!!!!! I LIKE, I LIKE, I LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!The first one, #3, that one is the best. Old and new, UNITE!This is what i tried to do a while ago, but you nailed it Rog, you f'ing nailed it.,...JQK, I remember also loving your design. It too was a wonderful modern looking throwback. JQK Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 here's the ones i made:But now inspired by Rog's new design idea, i may take another crack at it... Stay Tuned Sports Podcast
Snowcap30 Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 ahhh a snow day here on long island i like that JQK. i just am not certain on that dome. its too plain to me
Lee. Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 I simply find it ironic that with that old Capitals wordmark, all the letters are lowercase. Welcome to DrunjFlix
Chazberg Posted February 8, 2003 Posted February 8, 2003 I guess I'm kind of right-wing when it comes to uniforms, but I think the Caps have some pretty nice ones right now. They just need to burn those damn black jerseys and go back to the blue ones. I hate it when teams make their alternates their permanent road jerseys. charles-noerenberg.com
Frylock Posted February 9, 2003 Posted February 9, 2003 Rockin' stuff, Roger! The first one, Capitals-3, is the better concept, IMO. As others have said, the stars down the sleeve did it for me. Very well done! I'll take one with "Konowalchuk" and 22 on the back!I also like JQK's Caps concept. It's a bit more "progressive" with a retro nod. Good one!I hate to piggyback on Roger's post, but I did a Caps concept over the summer. It's nowhere as good as RC and JQK's concepts, but if you want to see it, click here.
STL FANATIC Posted February 9, 2003 Posted February 9, 2003 If you remember Frylock I spent a ton of time commenting suggestions on those, but now I am just gonna say they look pretty good. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
-kj Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 You are all on crack, I swear. Thank you, whoever it was, for finally agreeing with me that the dome logo is cruddy. Bah!And, Frylock... I'm seeing late-90s St. Louis in that one, and it's alot like a bad acid trip. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop!
