oh, please - I could've already made that joke. Oregon's basketball team has a player whose last name is Cocks...and she was huge in their away win at Oregon State last season. we were *dying* trying to think of all the potentially dirty headlines we could use in the paper from that.

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" was likely said by someone who did not have the chops to come up with an idea on his own.

Just because there are existing examples of teams who copied other teams does not mean that such theft is acceptable. It was not alright whenever it happened in the past, and it is not alright now.

Both the designer who did that work and the team who originally paid for that work have both been ripped off, plain and simple.

This is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of law, so stop condoning it with a "Meh"!

I hope you came up with one; it's a vast comedy vein that'd be criminal not to go after. Sorta like the "TROJANS POUND BEAVERS" headline after every football game between USC and Oregon State... save last year.

I'm surprised the Beavers defeated the Eaters. I can't say I've ever seen an Eater unable to finish off a Beaver. (thank you, I'll be here all week)

And now the dreaded rematch from last year begins.

GO HEELS!

In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.

I wanted to go with "Cocks pounds Beavers," but I mean, come on, that would be just too easy and classless.

Umm... that's what she said? [Whaddaya mean wrong board?]

Classless, yes. But there's no such thing as too easy. :D

This thread started off by saying these particular Irvine jerseys were "very cool and unique."

Cool, maybe.

Unique, DEFINITELY NOT!

Would someone please find a photo of the home jerseys for the Northwest League's Eugene Emeralds and post a comparison for us? The E and the S on the Eaters jerseys are a DIRECT rip-off of the Ems jersey lettering.

And I don't want to read any of those "Well, they changed it and made it their own" postings!

The Ems' lettering was custom type developed exclusively for -- and paid for by -- the Eugene Emeralds.

Bad, BAD Anteaters!

I think what they're trying to say is that they're unique because they use a fraction of the nickname rather than the entire nickname.

Judging by the direction this thread was being steered in, the contribution of the pornbot which precedes me is ironic but yet strangely appropriate. :therock:

Admiral - don't argue with the pornbot. He can't hear you. <_<

Not agreeing, not disagreeing.

You just seem a little too close to the situation, is all.
