CC97
Anyone else feel that this just may be a decoy to toss people like us off of what it really is?Nope. It was on the draft day caps (which have since vanished from nhl.com) and it was on the capitals.nhl.com opening page flash animation which was quickly taken down, then replaced with the 'hole' fixed.Plus our own logo folk here have confirmed that it is the logo shown on their stylesheets. --- Chris Creamer Founder/Editor, SportsLogos.Net "The Mothership" • News • Facebook • X/Twitter • Instagram
zer0dotcom
I really hope that's some form of practice jersey. That design looks hideous. CMUBrent
I know there is already a thread about this somewhere, but I can't find it - my apologies. The Capitals are having an unveiling ceremony tomorrow (Friday, June 22) at their practice facility in Arlington, VA. Here is the design that is circulating:I think it's an upgrade over the current threads, but falls far short of the classic uniforms. The club took a great design and tried to get too cute. It reminds me a lot of the new Charger uniforms in that respect. Here's to hoping it's just a prototype.Don't care for the new one. Too much red and those vertical stripes aren't that great. I'm surprised they redesigned the original logo. Personally, I prefer my Bugsy Watson Caps jersey to that new one.
AAO
I'm not going to hesitate to say that the NHL is going the totally wrong direction judging by these teams:A. CapitalsB. DucksC. SabresThe only rebranding that I think is going to be a success is the Bruins' new look. Definite eye-catcher. fuzzy510
A clearer image of the new sweater:I'm really digging the eagle logo on the shoulder, with the Capitol silhouette. Also, someone asked somewhere about the three stars - the Washington Post wrote that they signified the three areas in the DC Metro area (Maryland, Virginia, DC). m0sherman
Ugh. That shoulder patch is incredible lame. They could should kept the swooping Eagle as a secondary logo. It's still an improvement over what they had - those black homes were miserable, and the switch to red, white and blue alone constitutes an upgrade. But it falls well short of the classic design. All things considered, I'm pretty disappointed.

spyboy1
Needs more stars. But seriously, The font could be bolder and the stars could also be bigger. You could also run some down either the sleeve like in the old days or down the side of the torso like this year's All-Star game. I'm dying to see what font they use for names and numbers on these new ones, and they damn well better be unique for each team! I'm happy to hear the Caps numbers will at least be two color. This one color Nike Swift nonsense is crap.http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...7062102100.htmlWhy is it that red hockey jerseys can look so cool but red baseball jerseys look stupid?
