number81
Pic from the Scott Hartnell presser...Also thought this was interesting about 2nd overall pick James van Riemsdyk wearing #10... http://flyers.nhl.com/team/app?articleid=3...mp;service=pageThe Middletown, New Jersey native walked into the locker room on Sunday morning to see his practice jersey hanging in his stall for the first time. Each jersey has an oversized number on the back to make it easier to identify the 41 prospects in camp, and van Riemsdyk was assigned a number that is pretty familiar to Flyers fans. The last time the number 10 was worn in Philadelphia, it belonged to future Flyers Hall-of-Famer John LeClair, a player that van Riemsdyk has already been compared to due to his size (6?3??, 200 pounds) and goal-scoring prowess.?Once I walked in and I saw [number] 10, I?m was like, ?oh, it?s John LeClair?s number,?? he said. ?He had a really great career and I haven?t accomplished anything yet, so it?s just an honor to be compared to him because I know he had such a great career and he?s a good player. http://anyonebutdetroit.com
Roger Clemente
What were those jerseys that were on a few weeks ago, I Thought The Iles had a new look coming? Those may just be proto-types.The Isles may have a new look coming, but they have no plans to unveil it yet. Teams usually always have a press conference the first or second week of July to show off their new acquisition and/or their new numbers, even if the team has a new look coming later that summer.--Roger "Time?" dustyb58
I believe Dallas Drake used to wear 38 in Detroit, he might take that since no one else has it. He can't have 10.oh, and Briere needs to hire some kind of stylist.
CJR
Drake wore #28 in Detroit the first time around, not #38. Of course, #28 is in flux with Kopecky having it last year but Rafalski coming in having worn it in New Jersey. benpc21
From the Briere presser...Is it just me or does Briere look like a very ugly, butchy girl??Still better than Smyth and Hannan's matching mullets... Woah....first off, you cannot take a shot at the greatest head of hair in the game. I think you are jealous of Mr. Smyth's locks. Second, during the playoffs when Briere had logner hair, I would say he had a colse resemblence to Michael Jackson. They both have that faint white skin, straight long black hair, the faint attempt at a playoff beard and deep set eyes. I guess the both really look like they just got off the plastic surgery table. Not the two best pics to compare, but the best I could find w/ Briere's "playoff" beard.
