Evan
About 2 years ago I had an idea about a new kind of striping for the Grizzlies. I decided to finally Illustrate it, heres what i came up with. Comments and Suggestions wanted, please! Thanks!
Ramirez#24
I think it would be near perfect if it was a little less thick. And i dont really like the color on the alternate, It clashes to much. But good job!
CDunn
it looks like it says "mom" over and over.
slapshot
The striping motif seems a little too southwestern...might be good for the Suns or the Coyotes though.
Phil
The problem with incorporating letter designs into trim is that the don't look right upside down, and you can't prevent it from happening somewhere on the shoulder trim (either on top of the shoulder or under the arm). This is nice, but I had to chuckle when I read Sabres7200s interpretation.I think the Grizzlies need to cut out the black out of their scheme. With teal, brown, red, and white, they have plenty of colours to create a reasonable road jersey. If they could just bronze (add some shimmer) to their brown, or even make it a little more golden, then it might even work as a more presentable colour. Evan
it looks like it says "mom" over and over.haha, thats actually pretty interesting, it slipped my mind while i was designing it but now that you mentioned it, it really stands out. Thanks for the comments so far by the way.
rheistad
id like to see the grizzlies get a new logo, even when they were in vancouver i hated walking around town seeing that logo, a utah grizlies logo would be cool or something like the new hersey bears logo, a good colour scheme would be black bronze and grey
TruColor
That striping is very reminiscent (sp?) of the old Vancouver Grizzlies trim - it represented some Native American inscriptions, and basically went away the season or so before the move to Memphis.I think that "totem-pole"-style trim fit better with Vancouver than Memphis. Avenger
I've heard that the Grizzlies are making a wholesale identity change for next season, and will de-emphisize teal from the scheme, relying more on the bronze red and black.
NickNickNick
That's the way the unis should be.I hate teal.Good Job.
NJTank
They need a complete make over, the logo is not bad but they need a new color scheme black and teal does not work in Memphis nor with the name Grizzlies.
J77
I like it alot!!!!! Just one MINOR suggestion, and this is JMO, but i think the secondary logo (the one of the Grizzly paw holding the ball) would fit better on the shorts. But even as it is, it looks great.~UJ
zer0dotcom
If it was in Vancouver, I'd say it looks great, but theres jsut somehting in my mind that says that the Grizzlies need to change their name and Identity. The only problmes I have with the teal alternate is I thnk of the Timberwolves and Hornets when I look at it.Otherwise, nice work on a complicated pattern
pagan696
it looks like it says "mom" over and over.or "wow" when they're flat on their backs (under the basket).
Saintsfan
Mmmm far too much like the original Grizzlies unis for me to get excited about!!
X-Man
Those look a lot like the original VAN unis. I liked the logo and colors OK, but the Native American-style pattern on the edge of the unis was THE BOMB. Van's teal roadies were the worst unis in history - even worse than the Hornets current Gumby unis.Native American won't work in Memphis, though. The city apparently likes the name and the colors fine, especially compared with the obvious city-related names like "Hounddogs", "Blues", "Sounds", "Express", "Rivercats" etc. However, if Memphis gets a WNBA team, they need to be required by law to take the obvious name: the "Belles".Some Memphis uni suggestions:--reduce/dump teal - black, red and bronze are great colors, if a bit Heat-ish, maybe bring up bronze (black and bronze is not bad). what would probably work would be to drop teal almost imperceptibly to the back ground the way TB Bucs did with orange, like making numbers bronze with thin red & teal outline. Teal looks good on the home unis, but doesn't work with the "road" colors - black, red, bronze.--road unis: all-black, with red or red and bronze piping up the side, curved like Houstons (front/back of the leg up the side, converging in the middle), change primary logo slightly, maybe put an M behind it), white/red/bronze #s--3rd uni: red with black/bronze piping, with "ball in paw" 2ary logo on shorts. black/bronze/white #s (pref. black/white)Any feedback would be appreciated. Discrim
i'm in the minority in thinking the current colors work as is, which they do. and the old teals weren't as bad as they could have been. however, looks better in black.
