TruColor
Apparently my rumor about the Blue Jays re-thinking the Dark Graphite road uniforms has come true. They've changed to a standard Gray road color, but here's the catch (and it's a doozy): They're still going to have Silver numbers on them, trimmed in Blue, and Dark Silver. Names are Dark Silver.I have no idea how anyone will be able to read the numbers from the stands or on TV.
slapshot
Except for our fellow Canadians on the board, I don't know anyone who willingly watches the Jays, so legibility won't be a problem Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016
Discrim
changing to regular gray: goodsilver numbers on gray jersey: worse than silver numbers on white jersey...hopefully someone will pick their brain up at the bus depot and rethink that. Moser316
Silver numbers on a gray uniform? Honestly, what are these people thinking? At least they got rid of those graphite uniforms, which would have probably killed a few players from heat exhaustion during road games in SoCal and Texas... CC97
Thank you oh sweet sweet jebus! Now, all they need to do is change the colour of the numbers (hopefully to black or blue) and rethink the colour of the home/alt cap. --- Chris Creamer Founder/Editor, SportsLogos.Net "The Mothership" • News • Facebook • X/Twitter • Instagram
TruColor
Yeah, the home caps are still Dark Graphite, and the road caps are still Black. The numbers have gotta change though...
X-Man
Ya know, old-timey ballplayers used to play in black or even dark-blue roadies, and those were made out of wool! Lightening gray polyester a couple of shades won't make that much difference, will it?Graphite would have been visually distinctive, but it was kind of a weird attempt to toughen up the blue jay (ditto the logo, though like it all the same). Just love the little guy the way he is - the Orioles and Cards are named after little seed-eating birds, and they've won plenty of World Series. I've been a Cubs man since 1983, when we got our first satellite dish. For the record, I also hate the Leafs and have been a 'Hawks (cuz of my dad) and Jets fan (cuz watching Bobby Hull 40 feet away from dad's season seats does things to a 3 year old mind) all my life. Please don't lump me in with Jays and Leafs fans just because I'm Canadian. It's nothing personal, I just don't like having those two teams rammed down my throat by the Canadian media. I have nothing against Chris or any other Canadians who bleed blue. Again, nothing personal.HAVING SAID THAT, I welcome the Jays back to common sense by using a "standard" road grey. Although if they wished to go to a bluish grey, purely for plops and giggles and to gain some kind of distinction in MLB, that would be okay too. Oh man Chris, they've got you. They need to do a lot more to make these good. Mainly scrap the whole thing...Also, I think if they were gonna do this they shoulda considered going all out with the graphites, but oh well, they'll look bad either way.
