HappyBrownie13
ok, so I got the 2nd overall selection in my fantasy football draft lottery recently. Obviously, LTs going first, so what do you guys think I should do at #2? The consensus Top 3 players are LT, LJ, and S-Jax, but who do you all think I would be wisest to select? when you're replacing an old Carr, you need more than Les Miles
kewp80
I had Jackson last year, and he only had one game under 10 points using the default espn.com scoring, which is very, very good, very consistent. I don't think LJ's o-line is as strong as it once was, and the Rams' line is getting stronger. BTW not even LT got the 10 point consistency that Jackson got. Cardinals -- Rams -- Blues -- Tigers -- Liverpool Check out my music!
Jezus_Ghoti
Jackson for sure. For these reasons:- Jackson is just coming into his own in an offense that is only going to get better (they added Randy McMichael and Drew Bennett in the offseason)- LJ is a very beat up back. He had about a million carries last year and clearly had nothing left by the playoffs. His career isn't gonna be a long one.- LJ is threatening to hold out and may be traded.- LJ's line is getting worse and his QB situation doesn't exactly instill a lot of confidence in anyone. BCBoy
S-Jax for sure. He is a better threat to catch the ball out of the backfield, and has more to work with.Teams will play the run vs. KC now that Croyle is starting as well, whereas teams have to respect the pass in St. Louis. rams80
Action Jackson, for the above reasons. Some cautionary warnings, though....Some of you guys have more confidence in the Rams' line than I do.Last year was the first season Jackson didn't get hurt (and he led the league in total yardage...) Now Linehan does fewer stupid things with Jackson than Martz did, which is probably why he didn't get hurt, but still you should be warned that durability may be an issue.Linehan may also channel "Mad Mike" from time to time (go berzerk with the passing at the expense of the run). A good example of that would be last year's Carolina game. That said, I'd take him (course I'm biased. ) On 8/1/2010 at 4:01 PM, winters in buffalo said: You manage to balance agitation with just enough salient points to keep things interesting. harperdc
Alexander. He's due for a comeback year, and I almost always try to go for guys on with a greater chance of winning.
See Red
Frank Gore....Frank Gore would be a good choice, but his knees kind of scare me a bit, to be honest. Not sure where people stand on Travis Henry (certainly not a #2 pick), but he could fall to the second or third round and be a very good pickup there considering he's in Denver's system now -- and that system is tailor made for a running back like himself. amare32
Steven Jackson, especially if it's a points-per-reception league. Kid's the Truth -- w/o the mileage of LJ.
