Avalancho
MLS President Don Garber announced today that the San Jose Earthquakes will return to the league in 2008.The new incarnation of the team will be owned by the same guys in charge or the Oakland Athletics.I wonder if the Quakes will use again the black-electric blue color scheme they wore in the past or if they will rebrand the whole thing...*** Info taken from different online news sources ***
harperdc
it's not too hard to grab a link to clarify this (that link goes to the MLS' official press release on the topic), and shouldn't this be in the sports news and talk forum, not the logo one? Saturn
To turn it towards logo discussion.....I hope they bring back a modified version of the black and blue logo with a little red thrown in as tribute to the older old 'Quakes.
FiddySicks
I hope they straight up pull a Cleveland Browns thing and bring back the previous logo set. They were undoubtedly the best looking team in the league when they bit the dust IMO. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) leedsunited
Hopefully they market the team better in the Bay Area as a whole. I know that in San Francisco you'd have had no idea that the Clash/Earthquakes existed, marketing was that nil. I like the idea of the team playing in different locations while the new pitch is built.
rmackman
Now there's 7 teams in each league...just bring 1 more to each league and we're good. HELLO AGAIN MIAMI FUSION! I wish =( "Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running." - Unknown | Check out my articles on jerseys at Bacon Sports

TBGKon
Some options that come to mind would be, via worldstadiums.com:- Stanford Stadium (distance from San Jose = 18 miles, best option, closest to San Jose)- New Kezar Stadium (distance from San Jose = 49 miles, has smaller capacity, but a bit far from San Jose)- Monster Park (distance from San Jose = 42 miles, not sure if a soccer pitch can fit there, but it would be an option for at least until the Niners begin their season)

CZzyzx41
Well it's nice you get your Earthquakes back. Unfortunately Ching and De Rosario won't be coming with them. You think RSL is bad? I look forward to the Developmental League level soccer that will be played in NoCal next year by your San Jose Earthquakes. -DanielCheck Out My Podcast! I wish =(Im shocked that the MLS couldn't make a go of it in all of Florida.Once again, it comes down to marketing which ownership did not do. Also, the stadium they played in (Lockhart in Ft. Lauderdale) is a dump and should have been torn down after the NASL days with the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers.
