SmoothieX
Their world series era unis are among my all time favorites. Especially the hat with the white front panels.
BB61
I personnaly prefer the ending of the next World Series... Carter's homerun! I always been an Expos and Jays fan..As a Phillies fan, I'd personally prefer you to CRAM IT. Just kidding. its baseball, its hard to get in the playoffs i say expand it to like oh 6 teams or 8 like NBA/NHL. y not right?? first rd. 5 and 7rest of the way.Right. There's nothing more I like doing during Christmas than snuggling next to my loved one next to the fire watching Game 7 of the World Series.No.
daschuck77
That would be a cool new trend if more teams adopted retro Fridays or Sundays. I hope the Jays go with their inaugural unis myself.Yup. I also hope more teams jump on the retro bandwagon (i.e. the Mets in their racing stripe unis from the 80's, the A's in their colorful "Swingin' A's" era uniforms from the 1970's, the Red Sox in their 1975 unis, or the Astros rainbow-styled get-ups from the 70's and 80's).I'm up for anything but the White Sox wearing shorts again! BBTV
All you guys need to stop. Baseball is and always was America's game. We invented it, and play it better than anyone else. All this talk about Canadian baseball is ridiculous. It is a disgrace that the World Series trophy ever left America, but at least we know it was American players that won it. I will not stand for any of this America bashing. Every time you bring up Joe Carter, you take a stab at my country. Well I'm proud of my country, proud of my flag, and I'm not going to sit back and allow all of this USA bashing to continue any longer. Hopefully some day the Blue Jays will move south of the border, and everything will be right. Damn Selig needs to step up and get it done. This was a joke, designed to point out some ridiculousness that's been going on lately. You really should have kept this up because after all the discussions with IceCap, hockey and Canada, I would have expected something like this. I saw, I came, I left. SabreGuy
I've been mulling over picking up a retro white-front Jays hat a lot lately. If they make that one of their official caps (like the brewers did with their retro package) it will make it a lot easier to find one and not have to go with the American Needle version which I just don't like. hormone
I, for one, am way over the retro fad. Pick a uni and use it. If you're honoring like the 40th anniv. of something and use it for a game or weekend, that's fine, but do you want to be the ball in glove or the M with wheat? Do you want to be the blue jays or the black jays? Pick one set and develop it please.
Gothamite
In the case of the Brewers, I attriubute it to the conservatism of a new owner, who wanted to explore options without committing his club before he understands the market. But now? I agree with you. Time to make the switch already. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.

leedsunited
92 style Jays is the best uniform or jersey in any sport everThat may be a bit much, but I will agree it was the best look the franchise ever sported. And the logo was immensely underrated. Bring the whole set back. NOW.
The_Admiral
I'd like to see the '93 Jays uniform revisited, but maybe they could design a new 'T' monogram for the hats in that style, and keep the main logo on the front and as a sleeve patch. That old Blue Jays primary was like top five in baseball when it was around, though.I was hoping that the Royals would introduce a powder blue shirt soon. Not an exact throwback, but a revisiting of powder blue as a Royals color, to be worn at home as a second alternate. (or first, since I'm not wild about the plain blue one.) ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

But another more cynical way of looking at this retro-trend is that MLB is looking for ways to sell more merchandise. Since a majority of teams have introduced new uni's in the past 5 years or have classic logos/uniforms that would never be changed, they need a new revenue stream. Baseball cannot go through a year without introducing a new Alternate uni/cap or a uni revision. I like the retro but it should be novelty because it could get out of hand. Gothamite
I understand your concern, but I'm not sure how valid that is. Teams don't generally have to wear items on the field to sell them in the shops. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. spyboy1
I'd like to see the Blue Jays, a relatively new team in the long history of baseball, pull a "Minnesota Wild" and come up with a retro style jersey that would have a 1940's or 1950's feel to it that they never actually wore.Could be a cool, understated jersey if done right.
