MrAsterisk
I'm not qualified to answer this question (although I could offer a team of my favorites rather easily), but Mr. Jane (if I may call you that), I'm shocked you misspelled Makelele, accents nonwithstanding. MrAsterisk
Way, way back, the 4-2-4 was pretty much the standard formation.Kudos to The Nation for including Juninho. I'd take goals from 50% of my direct free kicks, too.

I'd take goals from 50% of my direct free kicks, too.Juninho is one of the most underrated players in football. The best freekick taker in the world. Apparently he practices freekicks with the dummies 5 yards from the ball. I wanted a team which contained defense, did not want an all out attack team. harperdc
Juninho, Pirlo from Milan, Nakamura, Ronaldinho when he wants to....all great dead-ball strikers.and apparently earlier this summer Shunsuke was practicing by knocking free kicks over some of the Japanese rugby team players! eek!
