In this thread BRice16 mentioned something about having a retro month in the MLB, and I really liked this idea. So I decided to put together what I thought each team should wear. I am only choosing jerseys from 1960 onwards.

Baltimore

But, only of the Orange jerseys are worn at home. The reason I chose these was the use of the Orange at home, and the Baltimore script on the road.

Boston

I like the pullover style better than the button up, and the pullover is the only change I can find that doesn't look like what they wear now.

Chicago

Cleveland

I like the racing stripe look of these. They had pullovers back in the 70's, but I don't like the red roads.

The Tigers had the same jerseys for a while, so the year on this is not the big deal. The homes are pretty much the same as they have now, but the block script is different than now.

Kansas City

The only reason I chose these is the powder blue. Personally I think the powder blues with the Kansas City script is harder to read than the Royals script.

Los Angeles

I really can't find a California Angels jersey I like. They all just seem the same to me. I like this only because of the wordmark.

I like the scripts on both of them, and I really wish the Twins would use a red hat full time.

Just wear what they have. The jerseys have been the same.

Oakland

These jerseys should be worn, but only if they use the yellows for the home jersey. Without them they are quite bland.

Seattle

These are a mixture between the Indians and Royals ones I choose. I like the racing stripe and the powder blues. Plus the hats are some of the best throwbacks in the MLB.

Tampa Bay

I chose these because of the blue jerseys. They need to wear whites at home, and the blues on the road.

These are the unis that represent the BLUE Jays. The have BLUE in them.

I would be ecstatic if they wore uniforms similar to this, but Angelos will never give in to the "Baltimore" script on the uniforms.

For your overall selections of the other teams, Most were 70's/80's uniforms. I would like more early century uniforms like the 1905 Tigers, and the 1919 White Sox.

The 1919 Sox jerseys will never be worn, for obvious reasons, but they are a great look. I especially love the old stand-up collar (what the HOF calls a 'military collar'). I have a modern rugby jersey with that type of collar, and it looks so sweet.

heh, for a while now I'd been thinking the Cubs should do something on similar lines for their 150th anniversary, which would be 2026...they'd never go for it, but here's what I thought up:

April: 1909 home and away

worn: Opening Day, Home opener, Fridays

May: 1933 main home (blue placket, wishbone C) and second road (script Chicago)

worn: Fridays, Memorial Day

June: 1942 home and away vests

worn: all Friday games

July: 1957 home and away, complete with white piping on cap

worn: 4th of July, all Friday games

August: 1978 home and away, in all their pullover glory

worn: all Friday games

September/October: 1989 home and away

worn: all Friday games, 9-11

heh, I wanted some excuse to get em in the 91 or 94 roads to be honest, but the regular season is only 6 months long and the homes that went with those are only minutely different from the current homes, which I presume would largely remain unchanged in 2026.

These jeresys were the ones worn during the year when Hank Aaron hit number 715. It was a hard desecion between thees and the Dale Murphy era powder blue ones. But, in the end th Hammering Hank won over.

I really liked the Cubs older jerseys (See Discrim's post). But, sticking with the 1960 or later rule, I chose these. I am a very big fan of the pullovers, and I like the royal blue here. If you can't tell if possible I want the team to were some shade of blue. I like blue.

They haven't had new jerseys since the have entered the league. IMO they need new ones.

These bring back the teal pinstripes and the teal hats, which are more liked than the black jerseys and hats. These are also what the Marlins wore when they first entered the league.

Yes, the Pirates had 5 different combos of uniforms. I chose these because of the full yellow jersey and the striped hats, both the black and yellow ones.

Ok, the NL had some great unis in the late 70's. The Ozzie era unis in there powder glory were the best ones the Cards ever had.

Those are some sweet uniforms, but Ozzie was on the Padres in 1978.

1) I would love to see the Angels break out a cap with the big halo. I know they're gimmickly and no doubt require extra work by the manufacturer, but I think they're fun

2) The Mets would wear the 1986 version with the racing stripes.

3) I like the Rockies uniforms, at least the base set. That black vest with the white trim is brutal.

4) I know I'm in the minority, but I love the Braves' feather on the sleeve look.

Just a couple of thoughts from me:

- Even though the Nats were formerly the Expos, I'd like to see them wear these from the 1906 American League Nats.

- I'd like to see the Cubbies go for the look of the 1911-1912 Cubs.

- Just so Houston wouldnt have to wear those hideous striped ones, they could either go with these from 1965-1970 or these from 1971-1974.

- I'd like to see St. Louis go a little futher back to these from 1940.

- The O's could also use these from the 1975-1987 era.

- Maybe it's because this is how I remember the Tigers, but the look from 1985-1993 was nice.

Here's my take on the American League.

They only wore the vest style the one year, but it's absolutely one of my favorite jerseys ever. Combine that one with the "Baltimore" on the road jerseys and you've got a combo that can't be beat for me.

For Boston, I'd vote 1931 with pinstripes just to revive a rare look.
