They just talked to Joe Montana on KTVU 2 here in the Bay Area. He said some very nice things including other than his father Bill Walsh was the most important man in his life.

On a personal note: My Uncle Lee's P.E. teacher at Washington High School in Fremont, California in the 1950's was none other than Bill Walsh. It's a sady day but let's always remember the good times with the Coach.

Bill Walsh was not only one of the best football coaches in history, but he was also a great man. He left a big mark on football, and we all owe him a debt of gratitude. God Speed, Bill Walsh. You were a true champion.

He was the reason there was a 49er dynasty, Montana, Rice, Young that was all his doing, he built the team he designed the offense, and he was great in game planning.

Amazing the only coach with a more impressive coaching tree, would be Paul Brown, who would actually have this entire tree too, since he spawned off Bill Walsh himself, along with Chuck Noll, and Don Shula among others.
