Booooooooring.I never thought that what the Blues had last year was so great, but I'm actually very impressed with their update this year. Everything is clean, the piping looks good, and the little nod to the Arch is terrific. I'm readjusting my previous top five rankings:5. Thrashers4. Wild3. Panthers2. Blues1. They used piping but worked on the jersey to make it unique and good looking. It's too bad too many teams took one template and the way they worked seems like they just went on MS Paint and used the paint bucket and Voilà ! Here ya go Colorado, Florida, Edmonton, Nashville...Next year, teams will bring back alternates so maybe they will get a second chance to make something worthwhile. IronChefShark Posted September 20, 2007 Share Posted September 20, 2007 Ok the Sharks unis, I gotta admit, they look a lot better than I thought they would.I was under the impression that the orange stripe was gonna be the same thickness as the white stripe on the teal jersey and the black stripe on the white jersey. I was confident the teal jersey was gonna look good, but was kinda skeptic that the white jersey would give too much of a bad New Orleans Hornets crossover vibe. Thankfully I was wrong about that.Thankfully they resisted the urge to go with a faux-retro looking lace up collar. Also I do feel that there should be a thin orange pipe separating the yoke trim from the shoulder yoke itself....and I'm not crazy about the block numbers. A more rounded version of last year's number font would have been ideal and it would have matched the new wordmarks sans all the bevels.I plan on attending the preseason game against the Canucks on Saturday, but its mainly because I want to get a feel for all the new audio and video enhancements at the Shark Tank. Ill get some pics to post here.Regarding the teal color, I bought a teal Zephyr hat with the leaping shark logo on it and compared it with an old teal Zephyr hat with the SJ monogram on it. The new teal definitly is a bit more green than the older one, as far as the hats go at least. The old notion that it would be close to the Philadelphia Eagles green though seem to be false. It actually looks closer to Miami Dolphins aqua in my opinion. When I see the jerseys on Saturday (maybe even Friday in case I decide to get a skate in at Sharks Ice) Ill see for myself how much different the teal is on the jerseys.---------also lost in all this new NHL uniform hulabaloo, seems to be a renaissance of pants striping. This coming from someone who was not looking forward to seeing EITHER team's uniforms going into the game, but when they skated out, I was shocked. My favorite was how the green numbers really "pop".The Lightning however, have black leotards. I was in the 1st row of the upper level, and could not see the blue on the sleeves at ALL.
