FiddySicks
So tonight me and a few buddies are driving down to Southern California to catch the last few days of the US Open of Surfing, and while there were going to catch a few nights of the X Games. I personally love the X Games and can't even fathom how it's physically possible to do some of the things these guys make look so easy. Anyone else watch the X Games? So far it look's like were going to try to catch the Skate Street finals and the MotoX big trick finals. TFoA
Ah, can't wait for the skateboarding events and rally competition. I don't know much about skating as far as competition and the pros are concerned, but I do skate a little bit and I love seeing people who are better than me do it, so I'll be a little bit better someday. That, and rally kicks ass.
Sport
Do they still have street luge in the x-games? I know they used to have a lot of goofy sports such as downhill rollerblading and downhill skateboarding but now it's shifted to the more serious and athletic contests except for rally racing, don't understand why that's in there. MisterE
I don't think they have any downhill events at all anymore, but I love the addition of rally car. Get Ron Santo in the Hall of Fame.

TFoA
My first thought was "OMG, we just saw a man killed on nat'l TV." 50 Foot Drop!!!Then the dude, Jake Brown, after at least 3 minutes down, GOT UP AND WALKED IT OFF!!! Un--real.
harperdc
I'm hitting F5 on Youtube looking for that. How it hasn't been uploaded yet is beyond me. That was INSANE, I caught the replay later in the X-games show tonight.the Rallycross they do around and into the stadium is really cool. They should really push to invite some of the WRC guys like Loeb to the event to bring the level up a bit.

Seriously sick footage in every meaning of the word.

broncoempire
I remember the very first X games, back when they were called the Xtreme Games and were held in Newport, Rhode Island. They had stuff like skydiving, street luge, rock climbing, and water skiing to go with all the current stuff. I think, honestly, I liked them better back then. harperdc
the big air stuff is awesome and absolutely ridiculous. I don't mind they've added all the motocross stuff, I'm really happy they've added rally-cross too - just as extreme, even in cars instead of on bikes. There's still traditional stuff like skateboarding street, skate vert, etc., but they've gotten rid of some of the stuff that's less sexy and hasn't caught on as much.and watching the ESPN X-center right now, that skateboarding big air just keeps getting crazier and crazier. That's a HUGE ramp.

Would prove interesting, to say the least.

Would prove interesting, to say the least.Wouldn't really matter. It would be interesting for hardcore rally fans, but as far as the X Games audience goes, Pastrana and McRae are about as big of names as you could get. (Thanks to Moto X success and having a video game named after him respectively) Being able to get a guy like Boris Said who people would know from NASCAR is probably good enough. Active WRC guys don't have much pulling power here as they aren't big enough names.Besides, they would just take spots away from American rally teams who use the X Games to finance their entire operation for the year. I'd rather see privateer teams make some money for the Rally America season than see some "celebrities" come in for a few days for one event and be off again the next day.
