Shane Does Art
Alright let's re-do my predictions:East:1-Ottawa2-Pittsburgh Penguins3-Washington Capitals4-New York Rangers5-Buffalo Sabres6-Atlanta Thrashers7-Montreal Canadians8-Philedelphia Flyers--------------------------9-New Jersey Devils10-Tampa Bay Lightning11-Florida Panthers12-Toronto Maple Leafs13-Carolina Hurricanes14-New York Islanders15-Boston BruinsWest:1-Detroit Redwings2-Calgary Flames3-Anaheim Ducks4-Los Angeles Kings5-Vancouver Canucks6-Colorado Avalanche7-Dallas Stars8-San Jose Sharks---------------------------9-St. Louis Blues10-Chicago Blackhawks11-Minnesota Wild12-Edmonton Oilers13-Nashville Predators14-Columbus Blue Jackets15-Phoenix CoyotesExplanations: It may be a biased opinion but I think the Senators look really good this year and I think Alfredsson will have an unbelievable year. I also think the southeast division is a relatively weak one so I think Ovechkin paired with Backstrom and maybe Nylander can do some real good work in the capital. At first I didn't see the Sabres as much of a threat but after watching some of their games this pre-season I really think some of the younger guys can really make this team continue to be a tough one to play against. The Devils got rid of 2 of their better players and replaced them with Zubrus, Marty will be his usual amazing self, but in the end the Devils will miss the playoffs by 2 points....West:If the Kings play the way they did over in England I can see this team making the playoffs with ease.Playoffs East:Ott def. Corvus
WEST1. Vancouver2. San Jose3. Red Wings4. Minnesota5. Colorado6. Anaheim7. Dallas8. St. LouisCanucks in First in the west? I'm a huge canucks fan, but I just don't see them making it to first in the conference, their scoring is just too anemic and Naslund and Morrison (who just recently injured his wrist) haven't showed any signs of having bounce-back years. The Western Conference in general is going to be so tight though, I wouldn't be surprised if there's only a few points difference between 1-10. I wonder what would have happened w/Bergeron and Fernandez. I think one makes the season better and the other is named Manny.

(The Nucks sure could've used that THIS year.)Is it choking, or just being inferior to the rest of your division? If the Central teams didn't have to deal with Gojira Detroit, this wouldn't even be debatable. That said, the Southeast seems to have disproven my theory. By one point...and collective incompetence.
