6-Atlanta Thrashers

7-Montreal Canadians

8-Philedelphia Flyers

---------------------------

9-St. Louis Blues

10-Chicago Blackhawks

11-Minnesota Wild

12-Edmonton Oilers

13-Nashville Predators

14-Columbus Blue Jackets

15-Phoenix Coyotes

Explanations: It may be a biased opinion but I think the Senators look really good this year and I think Alfredsson will have an unbelievable year.

I also think the southeast division is a relatively weak one so I think Ovechkin paired with Backstrom and maybe Nylander can do some real good work in the capital.

At first I didn't see the Sabres as much of a threat but after watching some of their games this pre-season I really think some of the younger guys can really make this team continue to be a tough one to play against.

The Devils got rid of 2 of their better players and replaced them with Zubrus, Marty will be his usual amazing self, but in the end the Devils will miss the playoffs by 2 points....

West:

If the Kings play the way they did over in England I can see this team making the playoffs with ease.

Playoffs East:

Ott def. Phi in 4

Pit def. Mtl in 5

Atl def. Was in 5

Nyr def. Buf in 7

2nd round:

Ott def. Atl in 6

Ana def. Col in 7

Van def. LA in 5

2nd round:

Van def. Det in 6

Cgy def. Ana in 5

3rd round:

Cgy def. Van in 7

Stanley cup finals:

Some other predictions:

Alfredsson wins the Hart memorial trophy and is the 2nd leading scorer.

Gerber starts the season good, but will once again lose his job to Ray Emery.

John Tavares will be in the draft and be drafted by the Phoenix coyotes.

Oh and the winner of the art ross, lady byng, rocket richard trophy, conn smyte, and somehow the Vezina........the winner of all those trophies....

Brian Mcgrattan :D

Those are my predictions....

I'll just point out that it's d@mn hard to have only one team in a division make the playoffs when your team plays 32 games against divisional opponents.

WEST

1. Vancouver

2. San Jose

3. Red Wings

4. Minnesota

5. Colorado

6. Anaheim

7. Dallas

8. St. Louis

Canucks in First in the west? I'm a huge canucks fan, but I just don't see them making it to first in the conference, their scoring is just too anemic and Naslund and Morrison (who just recently injured his wrist) haven't showed any signs of having bounce-back years.

The Western Conference in general is going to be so tight though, I wouldn't be surprised if there's only a few points difference between 1-10.

With the regular season coming to an end I thought I'd dig this baby up to see if people got anything right.

I've been looking through and it doesn't look like it. I feel sorry for those of you who had Vancouver tops in the west. :D

Seeing as how 99% of the lists didn't have Boston in, no one will be perfect. ^_^

I wonder what would have happened w/Bergeron and Fernandez. I think one makes the season better and the other is named Manny.

well I had Vancouver tops in the West...well I was wrong....it's amazing how much things change from Sept. to now....teams that looked amazing then...not so much now and vice versa...

True, I don't think anyone on here had Nashville in a playoffs spot.

Rams80: If the Nucks wouldn't have choked away the last playoff spot, 4 teams in the Central division would have missed the playoffs.

Could riddance to 8 games vs. divisional opponents! (The Nucks sure could've used that THIS year.)

Is it choking, or just being inferior to the rest of your division? If the Central teams didn't have to deal with Gojira Detroit, this wouldn't even be debatable.

That said, the Southeast seems to have disproven my theory. By one point...and collective incompetence.
