CBOhioU Posted January 26, 2004 Share Posted January 26, 2004 I am not a big soccer fan, but the MLS is coming to Cleveland, so I figured I would try out a couple of concepts.The first is the Cleveland Beacons. I used the Marblehead Lighthouse which is located about an hour west of Cleveland as the main part of the logo.PRIMARY: http://www.geocities.com/cbohiou/beacons_primary.jpgALTERNATE: http://www.geocities.com/cbohiou/beacons_alternate.jpgThe second concept is the Cleveland Rocks. The logo is solid, but the 'gloom of night' color scheme doesn't fit with the team name. I'm not so sure about the alt... if you saw it alone, it would be hard to tell what is was. The Beacons' alternate looks more like 0B or IB than CB... perhaps make the C a little more pronounced.Good work... welcome here... keep it up. You could push it a little more in terms of tightening up some areas (i.e. making the ball pattern more symmetrical, rather than off-axis, cleaning up the wordmark a little, and making the stroke thickness uniform [by that, i mean the difference between the outline of the rapiers and the outline around the letters-- it would function better if it were all the same width]), but this is a very strong concept and would fit very well into the MLS scheme.Great work! I like the style of the Beacons logo and the presentation looks professional, but the color scheme could be made a little more positive with some lighter highlights.All in all some very nice concepts, look forward to seeing more from you.
