nitroseed Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 Another AFL team has unveiled their new uniforms: the Carolina Cobras. Take a look:To me, the first thing I thought of was "49ers," especially with the cobra now in a red oval on a gold helmet.
Avenger Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 I definitely see what you're talking about. As much as I like the Broncos jerseys, I wish other teams would stop using the "batwing" style jersey. They seem to be over-used. And I don't think it works most of the time.
Ez Street Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 interesting, didn't their unis use to look like the Panthers style? Personally i like them. @DavidStreeter
Brian in Boston Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 Frankly, I preferred their old uniforms. These jerseys and pants can best be summed up with a less-than-enthusiastic, "Meh." As for the helmets... HATE 'EM!Brian in Boston
pagan696 Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 i think they burned everything left over from last year. going 0-16 will do that to an organization. Carolina Dreamin' ΓΔΒ ΓΔΒ ΓΔΒ When a robotic Nixon is on the loose, we have a duty to take action.
Puckguy14 Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 *coughs RIPOFF* oh sorry. Shoot why don't they just shadow their numbers, put white and black stripes on the arms, and sign TO! Brutal. 2004 San Jose Sharks 7th Man Fan of the Year San Jose Gold Miners - 4x Lombardi Cup Champions
yh Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 Thier old uniforms were great! I just don't understand this at all. It's not that the new ones are not good looking, it's just that the prior ones were even better. I guess given the lack of success Carolina has had in AFL, this is the kind of superficial change they hope will spark some kind of psychological turnaround.
Sterling84 Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 Sorry if I'm late to the party with this assessment. But that logo blows too.So many logos , especially with animals, are drawn with the "pictionary-style" my mind's eye already knows what a cobra looks like mentality. Nice cross hatching moron.Oh and besides ripping off the Niners, they've implemented the all too rare 5" TV numerals like Ohio State. Yuck. The Official Cheese-Filled Snack of NASCAR
JQK Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 I think AFL teams are taking a step in the direction of classier, more professional looking logos and uniforms, as we have seem with the Force, the VooDoo, and now the Cobras, i think alot of other teams will be doing the same... -kj Posted February 1, 2004 Posted February 1, 2004 Y'know, now that I've seen what their old setup looked like, I'd say the gold helmets are a good touch. The stripes that look like five hundred other teams though, those have to go. Buy some t-shirts and stuff at KJ Shop! STL FANATIC Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 I don't like either of the sets they've had now. The stripes were better on the old one, but it was too much red. These just seem to thrown together. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT

nitroseed Posted February 2, 2004 Author Posted February 2, 2004 Did anyone notice that there are NO stripes on the new pants at all?
STL FANATIC Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 Did anyone notice that there are NO stripes on the new pants at all?Yep. Which would work with the gold bronco stripe, except, there is a thin red stripe on the red jersey. As it stands, though, I'm partial to all gold pants. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
