Elmira kept its name (Pioneers) after the New York-Penn League team left. El Paso did, too.Others have not (Albany-Colonie, Edmonton, Calgary, New/West Haven).The Wranglers name and identity, while attractive, may not have the local history that the Pioneers name has in Elmira or the Diablos name in El Paso.That, and it might indeed be owned by the old Wranglers or Texas League.
