Mac the Knife Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Anyone else been watching the Setanta Sports free preview period?I've become addicted to rugby over the past several weeks, and last night I saw a sport which I kinda knew existed but had never seen live - Hurling - that's absolutely balls to the wall. The concept of 20 guys on a field, armed with clubs, trying to hit essentially a baseball to one another (note I never mentioned gloves to catch it with), then hit it - on the run - with aim sufficient to put it either into or above the crossbar of a soccer goal... just trips me out a little.
officeglenn Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I liked it so much, I'm shelling out for it even after the preview's over. It helps that a friend offered to pitch in so he could come over and watch Newcastle United games, but still ...
youcan'tseeme Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 It's been a great preview and I may need to get the station now that Leafs TV is free.

Fred T. Jane Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 You need ITVN then! [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. -kj Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 It's on digital cable, too? Hmm, time to go searching the guide!Yeah, I've considered the ITVN route, but I'll have to upgrade our internet connection first. We have DSL, but it's not always the most robust. It's $14.95 a month (yeah, I know ... ouch. Like I said, I probably wouldn't do it unless a friend was going halfsies) and it's not really part of any package. The best I could do was "a combination of lacrosse, baseball and an egg-and-spoon race."
