Ultimate NCAA Baseball Project

Today I unveil a small school that nobody cared about. jk

I wanted something simple with a bit of a twist. Per usual, I love finding number fonts that gel or match the script. Something I haven't unveiled in this project as of yet, I used same-color numbers and names, similar to USA's Olympic jerseys. I thought it looked a little cooler than normal white-on-blue.

they just beat my school in football on thursday. but that's not too hard to do.

i like this. especially the number font. and people do care about samford! :-)

With a name like Ragin' Cajuns, I knew I'd be able to have fun with this one, lol. This is the only concept I've done where I've shown the back of the cap. I did so mainly because I wanted to have the flaming chili pepper somewhere, but couldn't find a place tastefully.

The piping is kind of a take on the Atlanta Falcons' pants, but everywhere. This was a really fun concept.

And it looks good. You maybe could have put the pepper on the sleeve, but it is still fine without the pepper on the sleeve. I love ULL and these unis are great.

Alright, the thread's dropping slightly, plus it's close enough to Friday, so here's the first unveiling...

NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS!!!

Now for the run-down on this set. First off, my main goal to showcase UNC's traditional argyle, so I put it everywhere I could on the unis. I also wanted to back away from their current over-use of navy and Nike-fication. Overall, I think we started out with one my favorites right outta the box.

Comments and concerns are appreciated. Also, don't forget to keep voting, there are plenty, plenty more sets to come. Just so you know, UMKC has the lead by only one vote right now, so it could go any way.

As a Tar Heel fan, I love this look. The striping is cool, a nice mix of the basketball and baseball temas. I myself like the navy uniforms they use. It breaks up the Carolina blue pretty well.

SOUTH FLORDIA BULLS

For South Florida, I wanted a cutting-edge traditional look. The green/gold combo isn't seen much in baseball uniforms, so it was a unique chance. The striping is tapered a bit, mostly on the neckline. I chose the number font (which is actually the LA Kings' font narrowed a bit) based on how it closely resembled the script font.

Very nice. I love the stripes on the edge of the jerseys, very hockeyish. A new concept for a baseball jersey but it works IMO. Nice job.

Time for the 4^th set:

TEXAS LONGHORNS

Much as I hate UT with a passion (go A&M!!!), I do like what I came up with here. First off, UT's hats are white and grey, depending on home/away. That's just wrong in my book, so I went with the obvious burnt orange. I used a design aspect that, until now, had only graced basketball and football. That's right, people, I used the nape-logo. The script is a western font that I skewed a put a shadow on. It--along with the number font--give a distinctly different cowboy feel. It's actually similar to Wyoming that I created... OOPS, wasn't supposed to say that.

Also, I added a new team to the list: Texas Christian Horned Frogs!!!

Pretty good. I like the font, maybe black around the lettering to make it stand out more. Also maybe the longhorn logo on the hat on the alternate jersey.

ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE

First off, a disclaimer. The quality is slightly off because this is one of the first sets I made before I got the hang of it.

I've always loved 'Bama's Atlanta Brave-esque A logo, so I wanted that to be the focal point of this design. To do that I included it as the hat logo and the basis for the script logo I created, which is on all three jerseys. On the nape is the Southeastern Conference logo, which is something I experimented with for the first few sets I made (which is why you see it on some and not all). Let me know if you'd like that idea continued.

DEPAUL BLUE DEMONS

With DePaul, I wanted an edgy, unique design. I believe I achieved that most definitely. I altered the jersey cut a bit to make the striping patteren possible along the seaming. I also put all three of their colors in (black, red, Petty blue (which is pretty close to Richard Petty's car color)).

However, my favorite part is probably the alternate/throwback.

AKRON ZIPS!!!

This was my first design in the series. I gave Akron a simple, crisp look with lots of piping. The hat logo is the kangaroo head coming out of the A. My only regret, now that I look again, is I could've made a better choice matching the number font (Dallas Mavericks) to the script.
