It might just be the editor in me but it seems like it would be cleaner if you put single years as single years. For example, instead of 1874-1874 just 1874. Baseball is nice in that the season isn't spread over two calendar years.

1. Not that I want to start the debate, but what about the Philadelphia Blue Jays?

2. Were the Dodgers really known as the Brooklyn Robins for that long a period? I thought it was a much shorter timeframe (not that I have research to back that up, mind you).

3. Were the Troy Trojans a different team than the Troy Haymakers? And if so, were the Haymakers an NL or AA team? Again, no research -- just asking/issue-spotting.

1. Unofficially -- After consulting newspaper articles from the time the Blue Jays name was announced it became very clear that they never officially changed their name from Phillies

2. According to the Baseball Encyclopedia (but then again they also said the Philadelphia Blue Jays was official)

3. No idea, they may have been... it'll give me something to look up

About the Giants, this is the accurate naming through time:

I have been doing some research on that... did have a Excel database with team name, year, record and etc... I have to wonder, since MLB dont even include ties as well.. so is it required to have ties included in the stats or just a informal thing? I'm curious as to that... plus the American League as well that I have done research too... one thing doe bug me, the Boston Red Sox history.. I know they started out as the Boston Americans but I could have swore I saw Pilgrams and Invaders and etc in the the history book but also in Wikipedia as well... so that the main beef I have with the Red Sox history that all.... the rest all good...

That is incorrect.. the Philadelphia Phillies started out as the Philadelphia Quakers in 1883 and changed to Phillies in 1890 so it would be like this

I don't think so. Troy was disbanded and some players from that team followed to play in NY.
