How many owners do you know of that are willing to foot the bill for fans to travel to see their team play in a championship game? :D

Krafts foot the bill for busses to MLS Cup in DC

It's a good thing they chartered a dozen buses for the eight fans that'll show up.

:P

Last year the owner of the Houston-based chain Gallery Furniture was so impressed by the Dynamo supporters after their Western conference win that he personally chartered 12 buses to send Dynamo supporters to Frisco. His relationship to the club? Until watching that match, none whatsoever. Now? One of the team's biggest boosters.

As for the crowd, I think it'll be split 50-50. New England and Houston are both sending boatloads of fans, but I've seen Barra Brava/Screaming Eagles members openly state that they are tossing their support behind Houston as a hat tip to the fan support they give as well as the fact that a Houston win would ensure the fact that DC United is the only MLS club to win MLS Cup as a member of the Eastern Conference. :)

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

Wow, you're all just effing hilarious.

Look, people follow MLS. Some people follow it passionately. Many of those people will jump at the chance to watch their team compete for a title.

So STFU.

Yeah, Kev, but we all know that nobody is cheering for the Revs.

Go Bulls, and in this case, go go Dynamo!

Busses filled up within 24 hours, my friend. B)

There's probably a good outlet mall near the stadium or something.

Nah, RFK's just got a lot of parking lots around it. They're coming for the soccer, but they're staying for the chlli.

You going, DG?

Absolutely! I booked two spots as soon as I received the e-mail. This will be my first MLS Cup, and to see the Revs no less!

Here's hoping the fourth time's a charm! :D

You gonna be down there as well Mockba?

RFK's a pretty tasty neighborhood on all DC United (and formerly Nationals and Redskins) games, with all the tailgaters.(Although there's probably at least ten better stadium tailgates in the NFL, but the Black and Red have the best soccer tailgate this side of the Atlantic.

Personally speaking, I wasn't inclined to hang around there when I went to a Nats game.

Revolution fans might have gone down there in a bus, but they came back in a waaaaaaah-mbulance.

Nah... they just drank on the way down to celebrate the fact that they got there...

Then drank on the way home to drown their sorrows.
