Browns Will Wear Throwbacks Sunday

Burning River

Recommended Posts

For the most part, the Browns wear throwbacks every week. But these changes are subtle enough that I dont hate them. I like the helmet with the single stripe and the numbers. I love the no "AL" patch and like everyone else, I really dig the socks.

Browns fans like myself dont want to see the classic look messed with at all, but for a once a year throwback thingy, this will do just fine.

Winslow is not wearing the striped socks.

Those are so close to what they currently wear that they may as well not even bother.
The "throwbacks" are so close to their current that it really doesnt matter, although they should use the helmets with the numbers...they look great. Having the number one one side of the helmet would be a great change.

I find it humorous that there are people on this board of all places that think the Browns throwbacks are too close to their current uniforms to be considered throwbacks. We'll debate a shade of a color or facemask or the size of a stripe etc. for 50 pages but significant changes from The Browns' current set to the throwbacks aren't considered "significant" enough. You have to admit that on this board it's pretty ironic and pretty funny that some people on this board don't see the changes as being dramatic enough to warrant the throwback tag.

We're all about the little things around here.

I actually wouldn't mind if the Browns used thin brown numbers like these on the current helmets, but that's the only thing I would ever accept on the helmet. I like it plain orange much better.

Helmet numbers are great... they would even look good only one one side and leaving the other side as is.

The Browns will NEVER emulate anything that the Steelers do! The striped socks and the thinner pant stripes are great.

Not even a division title??? ^_^

(Which now looks entirely possible since both squads are now sitting at 7-3.)

Owned.

And now on topic, I'll say it again: This has got to be the laziest attempt at a throwback since the Buffalo Bills busted out their "throwbacks" in 1994.

The Browns couldn't find a way to look good if their lives depended on it.

Must respectfully disagree.

The silly and arrogant "AL" patch aside, they have the best uniform in the NFL, my own Packers included.

Not quite the Platonic Ideal of a professional football uniform, but not too far from it.
