Shumway
I wonder if they just gave 'Zo the one he wore back in the day? Heck, he could've borrowed mine, as I have a Mourning jersey from then. One of these days, they should have Seikaly/Miner/Smith/Rice/Askins night or something. hecticbro
Seems pretty pointless to me. They're close enough to their current uniforms.

Dnice
That reminds me of Kobe wearing the jersey he had back in the mid 90s and aslo the season when Reggie Miller wearin his rookie jersey before he retired.
powersurge
I hated the old look THEN and after seeing them again I still hate them. I love what the heat have now and wouldn't change a thing. It is a bit weird that a team named the 'Heat' have dark *insert correct hue here* red uniforms. When I think of a color that reminds me of HEAT I usually think of a brighter color....but I can live with it.
Badge Man
I think the Heat should swithc to these full time, and add a red alternate.

Details, man. DETAILS!It was a fantastic set. Hell, all four of the expansion teams of that era came in with absolutely gorgeous uniforms.
Gothamite
Bad wordmark, though. Hate that "A".This could well be the only example of a gradient logo looking better (compare the original to the contemporary).

TruColor
...and then, the original Heat uniforms required a special version of the logo - because the gradient effect was to difficult to reproduce:
powersurge
Death to gradients in logos.I will say one thing, its always bugged me that the rim has no net. I know why is doesn't (probably because it made it look too visually busy...but it still bothers me. Not quite as much as a team called the "Nets" not having a NET in their logo...but thats neither here nor there I guess.
BBTV
Wouldn't the net just catch on fire?I love everything about the current Heat identity, from the uniforms, the logo, the court design, everything. Especially the red MIAMI jerseys (they still have those, right?)The original wasn't terrible, but they've upgraded a ton since then. I actually liked their version of the Lakers numbers, though it did look like a blatant rip off.All just my opinion of course.

Carter23
whats the difference between this season's logo and the one the prior to that? did the red get darker? (i've got the sun behind my screen, kinda hard to see)

(i've got the sun behind my screen, kinda hard to see)Yeah, it got darker. It now matches the Red/Maroon they use for the alt Red jerseys...and, they now call it "Deep Red". The originals aren't bad by any means (maybe the numbers, eek), but they have done a great job updating.
hecticbro
Seems pretty pointless to me. They're close enough to their current uniforms.Huh? What I meant was they're close enough that a casual fan would hardly notice. It would be like if the Pistons wore their Bad Boys-era uniform. It's similar to the uniform they were today, just not as slick.I think throwbacks are stupid, obvious cash-grabs and way-overdone in the NBA, but if a team insists on wearing them, the might as well go back to something really different. The Cavs in orange, the Lakers in blue, the Sixers with that goofy stars-n-stripes thing they wore.... Uniforms like that are different enough to justify the throwback night.
