zig
Watch number 12 on the Islanders. Chris Simon steps on Ruutu's ankles. How many games do you think he'll get? Do you think the Isles should even bother keeping him?I say more than 20 games
slapshot
He has a history of blatant intent-to-injure cheap shots. didn't he just come back from a 25+ game suspension for slashing Ryan Hollweg in the head?Simon should be kicked out. He's not a thug. He's borderline criminal. Back-to-Back Fatal Forty Champion 2015 & 2016

Hopefully he gets what he deserves and is at least out for this year.
spyboy1
As someone said in response to the youtube video, "If Ruutu wasn't such a little bitch, I'd care."I'm glad I sold my Simon Captials jersey just recently and replaced it with a Kolzig like I should have gotten in the first place.Still, I hate that :censored:er Ruutu with every fiber of my being and would do the same to him given the opportunity. Spezza19
That was such a dumb move.He should get between 15-20 games for that. Why would you do something stupid like that?!

Milo Meningocele
Here's a little better view of it:link to youtubeIt's very hard to argue against a lifetime ban for Simon at this point. I mean, how many chances do you give a guy? And it's not like all his infractions have been borderline, ticky-tack calls, they've all been ridiculous. Throw him out, already.Still, I hate that :censored:er Ruutu with every fiber of my being and would do the same to him given the opportunity.Um, you forgot the smiley. You did just forget it...didn't you? Because surely you couldn't have meant that literally. That would be completely ludicrous, and frankly (no pun intended), Tank-like. I'm just going to give you the credit for exaggerating instead of thinking you a nutjob with no perspective on how sports fit into our lives. I don't think that, given the opportunity, many people would actually do it, but a lot of people would definitely visualize doing it, and feel a bit of satisfaction with that vision. youcan'tseeme
It's bad, and at the same time I don't think much of it. 5 games would be a good amount, I think that's what Havlat got for kicking Hal Gill in the groin a few years back. BCBoy
5 games? Dear me, that better not be the case.I'm sick of seeing suspensions based on the result, it's the INTENT that matters. He has a history of cheap shots. 8 suspensions now, I'd kick him out of the league.50 games would satisfy me though. No less.

Lee.
He has gotta be getting close to banishment at this point.....You forget, this is the NHL. The league without a substance abuse policy, and the league that gives suspensions and penalties based on what other leagues have done in the past week.I say he gets 5-10 games, tops. Colin Campbell is as toothless as the Bumble after Hermie gets through with him. Welcome to DrunjFlix

Colin Campbell is as toothless as the Bumble after Hermie gets through with him.Agreed. After Bertuzzi, I think they'd have a hard time giving a huge suspension unless they go into a season with a "new hard line" on dangerous acts (which they should). The only reason I could see him getting more than 10 is because of his dirty history. hormone
Granted Ruutu is a pain and I'm glad he's on the Pens side, but that's just what he is...a pain. Chris Simon is a repeat offender of trying to injure a player.
Lee.
Just want to say, good on the Isles for being relatively proactive, and hitting Simon with a Leave of Absence for this.More and more, it seems like Simon is acting like any other disgruntled employee, and really doesn't want to be doing what he's doing anymore; it's time he sat back, got his head straight, and decides whether or not he wants to be an athlete, or if it's time to take the Real Estate course.
