Its unique that they use purple in the first place, but the all purple looks incredibly badass in my opinion. At least the striping on the pants breaks up the purple a bit.Now, if the Vikings pants were styled like the Saints, then it would be much worse. TFoA Posted December 18, 2007 Share Posted December 18, 2007 As I watched the game...the more it wore on me. It's good because it's all purple, and the helmet color doesn't break up the monochrome. Normally when that happens, that actually helps a monochrome uniform look good. What makes it look better is the striping. Now, modern striping isn't good when there's more than one color in the uniform (like when they wear white pants, it's ugly.). I feared the worst when I heard they were gonna do it, but when I saw it, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. But from a standpoint of accepting these, they couldv'e been made slightly more tolerable by using white socks instead, maybe with a thin yellow/thiclk purple/thin yellow stripe. Helmet+jersey+pants is already way too friggin much, and when you throw in the solid purple socks (which almost all players wear obscenely low now), it's just sickening. Plus, I really think the Vikings are the last team in the league that should be wearing black cleats, they just clash so much with everything in the uniform. Some teams with no black in their scheme can pull it off (Jets, Bears, Giants, Browns) but I've always thought the Vikings and Bills just look awful in the black shoes. Basically you need to have either an old school look or black in your uniforms to pull off black cleats.And yes, it was a new franchise low as I said. He has made some pretty big strides since the beginning of the season. Although he did have a bad game, he still stuck it out, and put the Vikes in position to win, something that was not happening at the beginning.
