Every once in a while, someone would say that the logo was being dropped, and that would garner a response from SD-area residents who said that the "P" was pretty popular all around and a big seller on merchandise there. Once the word came that the Padres were adjusting the cap, everyone took it to mean they were dropping the "P" logo due to its alleged gang affilation (that only existed anecdotally anyway).Of course, no source was ever given, so it turned into a game of Telephone and somehow the "San Diego P Logo is officially going away" rumor became a talking point. Maybe even top three across the board.I was going to disagree because of those side panels and the black flaps on the cap, but seeing that classics like the Yankees, Tigers, Cardinals, Red Sox, etc. didn't avoid some of those features either, well... maybe not. I would have snagged a pic of it but my cell phone kind of sucks at taking decent pics. Anyways, it showed essentially everything we have seen up to this point, but had two Rays caps, the all dark blue and the dark blue with the light blue brim. Kind of odd if you ask me. The one thing they didn't have was demos of the new caps, which for some reason were not yet avaliable. One of the best-looking teams in all of baseball.When I compare their uniforms to my Brewers, my heart breaks just a little bit. Wouldn't it make more sense, from a marketing standpoint, to make sure this stuff was available by Christmas? If not by Christmas, at least by the start of spring training.
