NHL Network Commercials

I know this is the obvious one but, does anyone else think NHL Network needs some new commercials. Dont get me wrong, I love the network, it definately is crack for hockey fans. But if I have to hear about the 94 Rangers one more time, or kids taping their sticks like Staal, Im gonna lose it. I know they probably have a hard time selling some commercial time, but at least come up with some new stuff to show. I dont really care about George Foreman wanting me to give blood, or having to hear Gary Thorne get a hard on when Ray Bourque raises the cup for the 1000th time. And will someone PLEASE break Daryl Sittler's record already. How many points did he have that night? :P

 I have said the same thing to my wife countless times since we got the channel (she glances over and gives me a, "what?" to which I say, "nevermind, go back to your book."). The channel is great (and I've got it on about 50% of my day), but damn, the commercials got old after two days. Now, a month later, I'm about ready to smash my TV durring the time-outs!

I talk about this once in awhile........Shut up! I don't care about your Swiss Chalet or your lucky bounces.

The NHL Network is such a great channel and you are totally right that they need new ads. It has caused me to hate Sittler beyond belief. And that crying Dallas Stars kid.

"Less than a religion, but not by much."

For being the "official" network of the league, I'm surprised also how crappy a lot of the shows were. I watched a program on Lemieux's top ten goals. A lot of the highlights didn't even have commentary. I'm not talking from the game, I'm talking from the show's perspective setting the scene. I think the #1 goal of all time was when he scored for Team Canada...and then it showed Gretz and Messier for about 5 minutes holding the cup??!!?!?!

I also watched some of the classic series shows. They were pretty lackluster too. It's disappointing that the "official" channel is list B-list, but then again, this is the NHL who doesn't do a good job of marketing their product. I haven't watched it in about a month. Is it any better? By the sounds of things, I think it's not too late to get those Ranger or history of the Penguins DVDs.

Aside from NHL: on the fly, the network is unwatchable. I can't even get thru an average On the Fly anyway because of the insipid commercials.

"HEY, DO THESE SHORTS MAKE MY BUTT LOOK BIG?"

"DOON'T GIVE UPPPPP!"

"RELIVE ALL THE MAGICAL MOMENTS OF THE 1994 STANLEY CUP"

"IS THIS THE YEAR? IS THIS THE YEAR? IS THIS THE YEAR?"

"This year, I pledge to play for the logo on the front, not the name on the back" Urgh spare me, what a flamer.

I think the real question is: Does anyone really know how to tape their stick like Staal? I sure as hell dont.....

"Is this the year someone scores 93?"

Ummm....no...considering 60 is a major plateau in today's NHL...I don't see 80 happening...let alone Wayne's 92 goals record falling

I wonder if Wayne laughed uncontrolably when he read that line on his script....

I don't have the channel but have watched it at my girlfriends grandfathers house. The commercials get old fast.

Screw the 94 Rangers....

Sittler's night must be the only good moment in league history.

A little more diversity on teams being shown would be nice too.

Everytime I flip to the channel it's the Rangers.
