I have to say the new A's alt cap is very dissapointing. Its all Play with a white logo with a spaced yellow outline. i am sorry if this has been posted before

I happened to read this thread first and then went through all the other threads and am still baffled by what the hell is Play? Did I miss something because in my life I have never heard of the color play or maybe it's a fabric... as Ricky Ricardo would say, "You need to do some 'splainin'!"

As an A's fan, I personally don't know what to think. I like it as a hat, and picked it up right after it was released because the majority of my clothes are black. But as an on the field hat I'm not so sure. I think that it'll probably get a bit washed out on the field, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Overall though, I like the addition of yellow to the cap, but I feel the old black set was a lot better.

The only valid question here is, "Is this the worst on-field cap and/or alternate uniform of all time, or merely of the twenty-first century?" I'm on the fence, but I'm leaning toward "of all time."

How can you ask that when the Orioles are still wearing their Friday night "O's" cap?

That being said, I don't think it is so bad, except the S seems too big. Maybe I feel that way because I'm comparing to the last black A's hat, which was worse in my opinion.

It's not the worst in terms of "the googles do nothing!" but it's pretty high on the "stupidly unnecessary" scale. I thought they learned their lesson with their last black jersey/hat. That lasted what, one season?

Do the Turn Ahead the Clock night uni's count? Cause those may be the only thing that could top this. That looks horrible...

The O's cap is silly, but at least it stays within the team's color scheme.

So you've got a silly logo in beautiful team colors, or this awful monstrosity that doesn't belong with the rest of the A's set. No question which is worse.

Their 2000 black jerseys were supposed to be a one year thing for the team's 100th year, had a special patch and everything. However they still sell the black shell/green A's hat as an authentic but have not worn it since 2000.

Maybe this year's jersey is for the 40th anniversary in Oakland, they have a patch for that too. Dumb thing is in 2000, that was the 100th year, 2008 is the 40th anniversary in Oakland but their 41st year. Consistency any one?
