Anyone else catch how ESPN trying to pull the whole "Well, Favre just said it's all rumor, he didn't say exactly that he wasnt coming back so...."

Um ESPN, THATS WHAT HE DID AT HIS FU*KING RETIREMENT PRESS CONFERENCE!!!!!! :cursing:

Good Lord it must be a SLOW time in Bristol <_<

At this point, I'm just hoping that Aaron Rodgers tears it up this year. Not because I want him to do good, but only because it will make the rest of the world shut up about Brett Favre.

Here we go again. Brett Favre has reportedly been in contact with the Packers about returning next season, this according to a 'source'. ESPN.com

Really, Favre had plenty of time (almost three years) to consider retirment, he finally chose to call it a career, and now it's time for a new generation in Green Bay and in the NFL. I get that he was a great player and a fan favorite, but let it go, people!

Until I hear it from Brett Favre himself that he is coming back, I'm not believing this at all. The media can't let Brett Favre go, jeez!

Nor am I. King Brett is dead, long live King Aaron. (And Prince Brian too.)

The guy to be in this is the QB that replaces Rodgers. It's always better to be the replacement's replacement. Anything short of a Pro Bowl will not be enough for Aaron Rodgers. He's in a tough spot.

Different sport, but Tino Martinez seemed to handle the replacement roll quite well, TWICE!!!

Just sayin, it's not impossible you know.

I think Rodgers will be a pretty good QB. I'm not at all saying he can't do it. I am simply saying that unless he wins a couple Super Bowls or something the fans will never stop with the bashing and the comparisons. Just ask Steve Young. It's not the player that is the problem. It's the followers. If Aaron Rodgers throws for 4000 yards and 35 TDs next season but The Packers go 7-9 everyone in the media and Green Bay will want to run him out of town. That's what I mean by saying it's better to be the replacement's replacement. Then again, Green Bay fans are pretty smart. They may judge him fairly.

Former San Diego Chargers safety Terrence Kiel killed in car accident overnight.

ESPN.com

Always sad when news like this comes up

RIP Terrence Kiel

Perhaps what's saddest is that he should still be alive. Reports say he was thrown from the vehicle, which usually indicates the person wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Witnesses also said friends tried to keep him from driving when he left a party and others said he appeared to be driving the wrong way on the street where the accident occurred. Both indicate he may have been impaired.

Here's yet one more reason to like Chefs TE Tony Gonzalez...

...Though Gonzalez never intended for this incident to become public, these types of stories never get enough press. In this case...a human life was saved. I think that definitely merits a headline or two.

Apparently ESPN analysts are picking the Lions to be the most likely team to pull a Tampa Bay Rays in the NFL this season. Does this mean they're gonna be decent, or am I gonna have to sit through a 4-12 season?

You're gonna have to sit through a 4-12 season.

I heard on the Dan Patrick show that the teams Favre is interested in are the Bucs, Vikings, Packers, and the Jags. The Jags? Why would he come back to be a back up? Well, I see why but would he?

Top Story on ESPN.com: Favre sends text message to Packers GM

WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee reported Monday that Favre sent a text message to Packers GM Ted Thompson on Saturday -- and that Thompson's reply was that he is on vacation and the two men will have to talk later.

The people at ESPN don't even know what the text message entailed, yet they post another story assuming that Favre has the "itch" (I'm already sick of that term) and it has to be another sign he is coming back as Packers QB, all because he sent a random text message to his old GM. This all comes AFTER Brett publicly stated last week that rumors of a comeback were NOT true.

Seriously, ESPN needs to let this the :censored: go. If Brett is ever going to return, then just let it happen and STOP fabricating these ridiculous stories!!

In case you're tired of the Brett Favre drama:

Tony Gonzalez saves man at restaurant

Unless you were just trying to remind people of the story, I beat you to that one about four or five posts up.

But look what's getting the face time right now. Only backs up what I mentioned up above in my post.

Former NFL QB, destined to be a legend, sends text message > current NFL player saves LIFE.

Just sayin...
