harperdc
Why are so many new badges so plain? Is it to keep production costs down? I know it's a complicated mismash of elements and the green was just slapped on it to appeal to Irish/Catholic fans, but Liverpool's badge and similarly-styled ones remind me of the tradition of the clubs, because they're so obviously the result of a long evolution. I'd only like to see some clubs add a bit of depth to their badges, like most American logos. (And like Arsenal did, sorta, and several clubs in Russia.)umm...the green above the Liver bird in the crest represents the Shankley gates, and the torches represent Hillsborough. More here on Wiki and also on Liverpool's site. Which just backs up your point that many crests have symbols that stand for something and should be more than just fancy new-school graphic design works (hi, Portsmouth!) but the issue is that in many cases the teams can't copyright the more traditional heraldic crests, and are forced to modernize or lose out on part of their intellectual property. It's what Arsenal had to do.also, new West Ham kit is trying to battle against Cech's new keeper uniform in a race to see who can blind more people.Avert your eyes! Gothamite
Well, in Liverpool's case, they could have just come up with a new rendering of the Liverbird - they didn't need all the extra fancy stuff on it. ferrousoxide66
...an massive logo creep on shoulders, even worse than the late additions to this seasons shoulders...These are horrible, and I didn't think you could out do the scouts neckerchief on the previous shirt...is that a stripe going up the back? There's absolutely no reason for those stupid three ovals on each side of the shirt. Ridiculous design.

I thought the kits Pompey rolled out didn't have the three C's on the shoulders until later in the season. Apparently that was tehir way of telling between warm weather and cold weather tops. I think the Canterbury logos could be smaller but it doesn't bother me too muxh they have them on the sleeves. Â Â

Fred T. Jane
Fabtacular! [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. jr79
New Pompey home. That's a lotta gold.I was under the impression home shirts had a 2 year lifespan but they've only had their current shirt for one year? Didn't Pompey get themselves into trouble for this once already?
Bayne
speaking of crest changes, new qpr unveiled at the weekend:rebranding the first step towards the big time for flavio briatore. Its nice....but it looks a little bit like it belongs on the royal gates infront of buckingham palace or something, you know what I mean? Its a bit overdone. Plus, I dont really like the words on the horizontal stripes. That doesnt really look right. I'm Danny fkn Heatley, I play for myself. That's what fkn all stars do.
